No news again today, gents? Such a shame![]()
Why would they? That ban is 'punishment' for AFC in 2016.Anyone else find it strange the PL have not said anything about the bein ban on Saudi?
Nah, genuinely not expecting news one way or the other until the fixtures are completed.will complete today knowing our luck after that shit show last night![]()

Leeds likeky to be promoted this weekend. See how long it takes QSI (Qatar) to purchase the club. If the premier league wave it straight through then it’s clear which side they are on.
Is that what they are waiting for? Promotion to be confirmed?
I would have thought the premier league would be keen on both going through but then again I thought the Saudi deal would have been done weeks ago.Leeds likeky to be promoted this weekend. I wouldn't have thought siding with Qatar would not make good business sense for the Premier League as I would expect the UAE, Egypt and Bahrain to follow the Saudi lead and block BEIN massively devaluing the MENA package.
To me it would make sense to remain neutral and enjoy the extra income from their dick waving contest.
If BEIN are suitably recompensed by the PL for broadcast rights within KSA, couldn't that go some way to resolving the issue? I dunno, it's geopolitical shit that shouldn't be involved in football, imo. It's more that Bein have a deal for two seasons with the premier league. They won't want to upset the hand that feeds them. Saudi banning Bein in KSA won't go down well with the premier league. They can't legally watch the premier league in KSA. It's not hard to work out how they will be able to watch it. There's also no way they could come to a seperate agreement with KSA legally. I still believe they are delaying as much as possible in the hope they walk away.
The EPL as a business will want to protect their current selves and their future selves. It's more that Bein have a deal for two seasons with the premier league. I agree one way or the other we need a decision as a club so we can plan for next season. It hurts my head all of this haha. There’s not much excuse now surely for just agreeing the takeover or not. It’s gone on too long and plans for next season need to start being made

The Saudi announcement significantly devalues the MENA package currently owned by BEIN/Qatar, something the EPL will not like.
If the EPL have to compensate BEIN for the loss of potential audience it will negatively effect the EPL current selves..... if they don't have to pay compensation then it doesn't effect their current selves.
The loss of the KSA audience and the devaluation of the MENA package effects the EPL future selves when the contract comes up for bidding again.
I would expect the MENA package to be devalued massively further as the UAE, Egypt and Bahrain are likely to follow the KSA lead and also kick BEIN out.
The only way for the EPL to mitigate that loss and turn it into a even bigger money spinner is to accept the devaluation of the MENA package and sell a individual package to the KSA and any others that follow the same action as KSA.
This is what I personally think will happen, the EPL will green light the deal and in the process sell the rights separately to the KSA.
I would suspect the money they make from the devalued MENA package owned by BEIN and the new bolt on package sold to the KSA will far outstrip the 500m paid by BEIN for the current MENA package
