Obviously an entire season won’t be scripted. The money from the play offs will be quite big relative to the EFL, how else do they make money ? But some of the decisions that have went against us are clearly more than ineptitude. The Fleetwood penalty. The goal disallowed against Bolton. A whole raft last season at Burton, home and away against Peterborough, home to Fleetwood ....

They're fixing it but they're actually that bad at fixing it that they couldn't even fix it. That's genuinely what you believe?

If you’re referring to us not getting into the play offs in season just gone, no gate receipts to get their corrupt mits on.

Pretty normal across an entire season. Most teams are involved in a debatable decision every match. Some go for you, some go against you. We’ve also had plenty of decisions go in our favour.

It’s just life. It’s not a conspiracy...

Aston Villa are whinging about Man Utds penalty last week, whilst also forgetting about the goal Sheff Utd should have had (but didn’t get) at the start of the restart.

Leicester fans up in arms about Man City’s CL ban being overturned, whilst managing to forget they only escaped FFP punishment themselves from the EFL because they were promoted before it was concluded.

Football fans have selective memories.

True all teams are subjected to highly dubious decisions

But more rare refs big knobs apologise over them

agreed, it’s all corrupt. The Sheff United one was very dodgy given the technology was on place to factually determine whether it was a goal or not.

It's like he's not even a Sunderland fan. Imagine thinking we need help in being shit!
I don’t dispute we are shite. After the Wigan scandal I put nothing past them though. It just reinforces my belief they are corrupt to the core and the fact they have their noses in the trough just crystallises that. Why do they let crooks run football clubs? What’s stopping some crook taking charge of our football club and doing a Wigan or Bury on us? Nothing. How many have actually failed the fit and proper owners test?

You've used issues with the fit and proper persons test to convince yourself that they're working against us man. It's ludicrous.

Who says? In the same thread where people are making wild predictions about our form improving and us gaining promotion, why is there ‘no way on this earth’ that Wycombe would?

Those pesky facts again. Ruining the fuming masses.

We were going to Winn all our remaining games man , even though we'd just been beaten off a team who hadn't won in 19 games or something 🙄🙄

No I’ve used issues with the fit and proper test to reinforce my opinion that the EFL are corrupt to the core and I wouldn’t put anything past them. Have you seen the Rick Party video? He knew the Wigan takeover was dodgy yet the EFL allowed it to occur and have the cheek to take 12 points off them. That could happen to us, or anyone.

With Luton Barnsley and prob Charlton coming down and with Portsmouth Ipswich Peterborough Fleetwood Blackpool Oxford still there and us with the same squad as last season (minus the keeper) it would take a brave man to fancy us for the playoffs next season !

Thats best case scenario, it could quite easily be Barnsley, Hull, and Huddersfield that drop, pretty sure they’re on failure payments from the premier league still. But Wigan might save one of them, and depending what happens with them they could be the best team in league one by a country mile next season.

Wasn't particularly bothered who went up out of these two, after reading the last fifteen pages of absolutely bat mental shite I'm glad that Wycombe won.

Please tell me you’re sat with a colander on your head?

Did 5G cause Coronavirus?

Please tell me more, it’s fantastic 😂

30,000 fans in League One at Sunderland earns more for the EFL than 30,000 fans in the Championship.

Incredible.
Our severely capped away support actually earns them less at this level. ;)

It's worryingly mental paranoid thinking.

Them going up just shines more light on how shite we are being run by the Don. A club with two promotions in an absolute shoe string shows how bad a job Don is doing squandering all the advantages he has here compared to a club like Wycombe.

League one is a graveyard for clubs that have been overreacting for years, paying average players top wages cripples clubs, and it takes time for them contracts to run out so you can readjust, on the bright side once your finances are in order and you start recruiting right it’s not that difficult to got promoted.

Are people not only suggesting ending the season was fixed, but also the whole season to get us in the play offs?

A new low even for this place

No, one poster is

That's the scarey thing, it's takes one daft poster to write nonsense like this conspiracy bollocks on this thread (it's one poster) and before long any fans of other clubs (Barnsley, Scunthorpe and Oxford on this thread alone) will be coming out with patter like 'all Sunderland fans think it's an EFL conspiracy to keep them in L1' , even tho it's just one numpty saying it.

We aren't, and haven't been all season, good enough to deserve a playoff place had the season played out, unless we miraculously turned into a different team for Aprils games.

It's alright saying that we were '3 points off second' , but that is discounting the other 5 or 6 teams that were all within touching distance. We needed to suddenly find form out of the blue, coupled with at least 3 of the teams around us suddenly going into shit form, just to finish 6th, never mind 2nd. It was never going to happen. Watch footage of our last 4 games for evidence. Or watch footage of the whole season ..we are dire

Struggling to recall/give a shit but what % of the season were we in play off spots for?
Id guess? At many points we’d have qualified had it been paused then. Like someone said, very well imo, it was like a daft game or musical chairs.
We’ve no idea how we’d have fared after the long break but ill always be a little bitter over this, feck knows how posh feel! Or tranmere!
