Please tell me you’re sat with a colander on your head?

Did 5G cause Coronavirus?
Ofcourse 5G didn’t cause the Coronavirus.

Please tell me more, it’s fantastic 😂

30,000 fans in League One at Sunderland priced at £15 earns more for the EFL than 30,000 fans in the Championship at Sunderland at £15.

Incredible.
No but when has there ever been a club who get 30,000 in league one before? Who knows maybe one day we will reach the play offs. In December I wasn’t too concerned, I anticipated we would start getting decisions going in our favour to help us to get into the top 6.

That’s almost as believable as your other theory though.

Leicester? Leeds? Southampton?

Still not sure how you’ve come to the conclusion we earn more, with lower prices, at a lower level.

It wouldn’t require thousands of people. The referees that the EFL themselves pick is all that is required. Taking us out of it, do you think it’s right that the EFL have a vested interested in who is in the play offs ? Obviously they want bigger clubs with bigger gates in them. It’s human nature.

That’s quite an accusation - you’re suggesting that there are bent refs out there in the pay of the EFL with the sole purpose of making sure the teams with the most fans stay in the play-offs all to get a bit of extra ticket revenue in May.

How many bent refs are there then or do you have the same dodgy 10 on a rota? If the EFL are paying the refs to keep you in the play-offs, why did you finish in 7th outside the play-offs having played a game more than other teams?

Leeds. Man City. Sheff Weds & Utd. Leicester. Villa.

Not bent refs

But didn't the refs association apologise to Sunderland this season for a few dodgy disceionss that went against us

In the modern era none got an average 30,00 in the third division, before play offs were a thing Sheff Wed and Villa did. Leeds has a few spells in the play offs. Seem to recall the EFL didn’t overturn their points deduction which resigned them to the play offs ....

I’m not even sure the EFL do get a % of the gate receipts across the season 😂 Or do they do this purely for the playoffs and the Wembley receipts?

Crazy.
Play off semi finals and final. All the money goes into a pot and the EFL get 50% of it. I’m not sure when this started, I looked into but didn’t really get a clear answer.

I think there’s bent refs who will fulfill the EFL agenda when obliged. There’s too much money in football for it not to be corrupt. As I keep saying, and it’s true. We’ve benefited from it many times in our so-called great escapes

Would it be that big a surprise ? Juventus did it for years, was proven in a court of law was it not. We are niave to think it doesn’t happen in this country.
Yes it really really would be, certainly at any senior level of football. Are they all in on it or do you get the same refs despatched to you every few weeks to make sure you don’t win too many games?

It's pretty ironic that the team with the most to gain from points per game game decision came out on top.. Massive incentive for them and it showed

So the EFL fix an entire season, for an extra few quid across 3 games? I mean compared to their actual income and budget, it’d be virtually pennies.

But they only fix it for us - and not Leeds, Leicester, Villa, Sheff Utd, Sheff Wed, Southampton or any other ‘big’ club?

It happened in Serie A, which at the time was the most illustrious league in the world. If I said to you that Wigan Athletic were the victim of a major betting conspiracy and the EFL knew all about it you would also be accusing me of making sweeping accusations, but Rick Parry is caught on video discussing big money being placed in the Far East on Wigan getting relegated. The EFL let them cranks take over too, and are now going to impose a points deduction on them. Scandalous.

Obviously an entire season won’t be scripted. The money from the play offs will be quite big relative to the EFL, how else do they make money ? But some of the decisions that have went against us are clearly more than ineptitude. The Fleetwood penalty. The goal disallowed against Bolton. A whole raft last season at Burton, home and away against Peterborough, home to Fleetwood ....
