It doesnt, but the main reason fans arent happy is that it didnt favour us. Ultimately the season is done and we prepare to go forward. I dont think the league ever would have got the votes needed to continue the season

No, I'm not happy it wasn't a fair way to end it. If, it had been ended as it was or even those with game sin hand allowed to play them then finished (meaning we missed out) I'd have been more satisfied.
This system was a joke, particularly with the bellend Chairman of Wycombe shouting loudest initially and drumming up support for this ludicrous system.

It's an embarrassment to something that calls itself a competition. You can't day we cantapfrord to play on but yes we can if it's only play-off games. You can or you cant.

They did carry-on for fuck's sake. They cited health reasons (presumably covid doesn't spread in two-legged ties or in that particular part of North West London?) as well as finance, so, how many games was the cut-off? 4? 5?
Can they afford to kick off a season in The Championship behind closed doors?
They carried on for 3 games. they came into contact with two teams who were well vetted.
They may yet struggle financially last year. But im also certain the only reason the play offs even went ahead is Sky

They had the same points man and they didn't FINISH below us they FINISHED 3rd
Finished 3rd after a selective mathematical method was applied to the table. A concept unheard of until this year. I bet you said ‘games in hand don’t mean as much as points on the board’ in the Jack Ross season, as that is a fact. Or was until the rule book of football was ripped apart and set alight.

Personally and I can say this honestly... its not about us. I thought the way Tranmere were treated was a disgrace in this scenario. The financial prospects for them were probably as far reaching as Wycombes difficulties. Peterborough (IMO) were in a better place to finish the season in a play off spot than us, I think having a team leapfrog you on less points and subsequently reap the benefits the Championship may (or may not) offer them is shocking.
Wycombe I agree have done well to get where they have (or were) on the shoestring budget they had. Im not denying that. Theyve gone up based on three games they had no right in competing in.

They didn't like they were 8th in the table. 3rd off PPG because of a game in hand against the side 5 points clear at the top.
Might as well just let a bunch of teenagers decide league games I reckon. Where would Man United have finished under this system ? 8th ? They could finish 3rd. Farcical.

Given the EFL’s salary cap proposal, failure to get promotion could be the death knoll for the club. We weren’t given a chance to get out of the league.

We were given more games than any other team to get out of the league, how can you not see that?

You vote to play or you don't, it's a simple as that. They voted not to with a caveat propelling them into the play-offs. It's entirely wrong imo.

Exactly mate. Peterborough beat every team bar Coventry in the top 6 in the weeks leading up to the halting, including putting 4 past Wycombe and Oxford (I think). They were flying and none would have fancied playing them.
The little credibility that "league" had is completely gone.

I can, but that’s irrelevant. We’ve been told all our lives watching football.
‘Never over till the last ball has been kicked in the last game’
‘It’s all about points on the board’
Don’t look too much at games in hand’
‘Plenty of twists and turns at the end of the season’

the whole fundamentals of football have been turned on their head. Throughout 2018-2019 we would have been promoted under this method. 3 points off 2nd and the team still in 2nd to play.

Look marra it's not the efls fault we were 8th having played 36 games not 6 36 games. That was the club's fault and the club's fault alone.
