The New Look Sky Lineup

Botham offered very little imo and was there for his name only. In his last few years you felt in was just a bit of a chore for him and he was just phoning it in

This.

I am a fan of Isa, but I thought the whole point of shunting Gower was to bring her in. I think she's excellent and could have gone along with that - but she's packed up and left to the BBC, hasn't she? So what was the point of shunting Gower? Bring him back.

Botham was fairly rubbish imo. Atherton and Holding are excellent. Hussein annoying, but he does spot some interesting stuff. Warne is good in small doses. Increasingly small. Key is ok. Bumble adds the human touch.

Knight adds little and Ward is terrible.

Who else is there?

Excellent summary. I have warmed to Nick Knight but he’s quite middle of the road. Nasser used to be good but seems to be too busy trying to be zany now.

Mark Butcher should be involved for me, and I think Dominic Cork is pretty good sometimes.

Warne is unbearable a lot of the time, give me Punter any day.

Ponting is sharp actually. Dominic Cork is f***ing shite though, sort of cricket's Chris Sutton. Dire.

Can take or leave Butcher. Presents and interviews quite well, but doesn't offer much in the box.

I never used to be a fan of Cork but I don’t mind him now, he at least offers an opinion rather than sitting on the fence like half of them do.

Cork - no. I always get the feeling he wants to be the coach of the team. If he was twice as good as he thought he was as a cricketer he would have still been a show pony...

Butcher - no - not good enough

Bumble is back thank God.

Enjoyed the commentary of the first Test unlike some. Just nice to hear some familiar voices talking cricket again and always enjoy Atherton, Hussain and Holding, Great news that Bumble is back though.

Its hard to listen to players, who were mainly shite at international level tbh and are pretty boring.
I'd listen to TMS if I could get the radio v TV timing sorted.

Michael Vaughan is a colossal bellend these days. Probably, and I don’t say this lightly, worse than Swann

i find vaughan very hitty missy. he is just such a sycophant he apes whoever he is on with, i find. when he is on with boycott it's horrendous. swanny, horrendous. when he is on with someone serious and does his job of giving cricketing insight he is really good, which is great but makes it all the more frustrating when he just goes down the laddish banter route

As Vaughany himself would say "Essactly" ;)

Wonder when sky decide Bumble is to old, he is very popular though and I can't imagine cricket without him

tell you who i thought was exactly when on tms and that was glenn mcgrath. although he doesn't fit the 'mainly shite at international level' criteria

With regards Bumble, he may be getting on a bit but it is so important we have real links to the past from guys that played in that era. My dad loved listing to Fred Trueman back in the day. The current lots history tend to finish in the 90’s.
