Thursday, 30 July – England v Ireland 1st ODI, Ageas Bowl

Saturday, 1 August – England v Ireland 2nd ODI, Ageas Bowl

Monday, 3 August – England v Ireland 3rd ODI, Ageas Bowl

England’s first Test against Pakistan is due to be played at Lord's the same time as the ODIs against Ireland, meaning that the hosts will have two squads in action at the same time.

More cricket 😎

Anyone know why non of these games are at Lords? Feels like a slap in the face to the tourists to not play at grounds like Lords & Edgbaston, even if it is going to be held behind closed doors.

I noticed that in Ireland's intra-squad warm up game Kevin O'Brian scored a 126*, hopefully it should be a cracking match if Ireland are able to make a game of it!

Stirling and O’Brien are still class white ball players and it looks like they have some promising young players coming through like Adair and Delany

Hope so! Be nice to see some of our lot, who are completely fresh, get a game as well.

It's going to be a tough learning curve for Ireland over the next few years now their established team is dropping away due to age. Hopefully though they'll be able to continue to grow and achieve success with both the red and white ball. I suppose the youngers aged between 5-10 who were watching during the 2007 WC when Ireland saw a surge in popularity for the sport, and who might have taken up cricket afterward, are now approaching their early 20's and should hopefully be breaking through soon-ish.

There’s a profile on some of them here

Balbirnie has looked good in tests especially and I still rate McCarthy as well
