They can own lands in this country, invest in global British businesses but they’re not allowed to own a football club!

Absolutely no chance this gets blocked sadly.
nice little sadly popped on the end, that should throw us of the scent of you being a gravy stained mongoloid, cunning work😂😂😂

Well its pretty obvious this is going through isnt it? No way this gets blocked
Yeah it’ll go through but the question is: are the premier league scrambling for a reason to allow it? Are the premier league scrambling for a reason to reject it? I sense it’s one of those two things.

I've had many an argument over it.
It's what happens when some fans latch on to what they believe is a, messiah.
Anything that messiah does is deemed a work in motion. A plan ahead. A tactical masterpiece and a clearly seen build for the future.....and blah blah blah.
The dire football played was down to Ashley and co and a not fit for purpose, horrible training park with facilities that Jackie Milburn would've been disgusted about......kind of thing.

I think most fans recognise Bruce as a decent manager who's came in under difficult circumstances and generally managed to get a tune out of the players....much more than Benitez did, in my opinion....but Bruce had/has a cloud hanging over him, which was/is, certain fan's adulation of a departed manager (Benitez) who knew he was thought of as some kind of god and used that adulation as a bargaining tool to double his wages for the genius 13th place finish which was a massive genius bit of management skill of overcoming the previous season of 10th. (guffaw guffaw)

How could Bruce even begin to compete with that. (chuckle chuckle)

Bruce can do no right with some fans because those fans will never ever grow up enough to allow him to let his past be his past, such is the hatred of some towards Sunderland as a whole, which I've always found strange....and vice versa...but never found strange as a digging banter of football clubs.

Anyway, that aside, Bruce absolutely deserves the verbal kicking for allowing that first half to he played out as he did in an FA cup tie.
There's no excuse for that and it was as dismal as a performance in that half as I've ever seen in my entire life as a Newcastle United fan.....and, if I was to be subjected to that every week, I would jack it all in and start hunting for a sport that excites, or learn how to play fifa, or something.

The simple process with me is, football is a game of 11 players each side with 2 uprights and a crossbar with a net behind, at each end of the pitch. The focus of the game is to score more than the opposition and not sit back to allow them the ball but not to score past you, only.

The best form of defence is to attack and then to deal with the aftermath of losing the ball in that process. It's called, entertainment.

That first half excuse for football from us would have only been mildly acceptable if it was the last 20 minutes of a premier league game where relegation would be avoided by gaining a point.....or if we were winning the FA cup tie by a single goal with 20 minutes to go.

To start a game in that vein was nothing short of criminal and a massive insult to us Newcastle fans...and likely a massive amusing spectacle for the neutral or rivals.

Bruce has to take the rap for that first half, I'm afraid.

Fair comment that

A lot of stuff I disagree with in here, mind.

Your post speaks more of your dislike of Benitez than anything else imo. He was pragmatic and defensive, but if you couldn't see control in his systems, if you couldn't see a plan, then I'm afraid you weren't looking hard enough at all.

Benitez got plenty out of players, certainly more out of the centre backs and central midfielders. When RB parked the bus we looked in control of our area and we would successfully kill off a game. When Bruce parks the bus we're reliant on Dubravka having a good game, again. We allow far too many shots, far too many opposition passes, far too much possession in dangerous areas. The outlets that we saw under RB do not exist with SB, despite having players perfectly capable of posing a threat on the counter. It's not even hit and hope, it's get hit and hope.

My disdain for Bruce has fuck all to do with his time as Sunderland manager and everything to do with how bang average he is. How bang average he has been for much of his career in the Premier League.

If you think football is as simple as 11 lads, jumpers for goalposts, or whatever other reductionist claptrap you spouted, you've totally ignored the way the game has changed. Gone is 4-4-2 with a big man/little man combo up front and in come deeper lying forwards who aren't necessarily the main goal scorer. Wingers are playing as inside forwards again. Winning the ball back is every player's responsibility, not just the hatchet-man in the middle. Tiki-Taka, Gegenpress, these aren't just hipster terms, these are tactical set ups that changed the game entirely. Look at Klopp's Liverpool, Guardiola's Barcelona, even Wilder's Shef Utd. They're all making complicated, comprehensive plans for every game, for specific periods or situations in a game.

Like a f***ing stuck record

Plenty of stuck records on this thread. At least mine will be true.
I honestly couldn't tell you mate, there's clearly some issues so I wouldn't say it's 100% TBF.

Nothing is ever certain but a ridiculous cash rich deal like this? Id be amazed if the PL rejected it. They'll no doubt just be finalising all the back handers.
