Black Lives Matter

A detailed critique and retort. My eternal thanks.
Pretty obvious I should have thought. You seem to think that a white man will be safer than a brown man for your daughter.

Many many white men in suits abuse women and treat them as second class citizens or worse. Theres nothing inherently more safe in white men than brown men. A 5 minute perusal of womens dating experiences would tell you that.

A sweeping judgement without reading the posts. Maybe you were too busy perusing women's dating experiences. Terrific stuff.

If a lad came around to pick my daughter up for a date, I'd feel more comfortable if it was a smartly dressed (smart jeans and a shirt say) young man holding flowers, rather than a Muslim in full traditional garb, big beard, holding a copy of the Koran.

Does that mean I am a racist? Suppose it does.

What if the Muslim had flowers and the young smart lad a Koran?

Racist? Not necessarily.
Prejudiced? without question.

Everyone's a little bit prejudiced though, what matters is how you deal with/exhibit that prejudice. Would you try to get to know the lad, or forbid your daughter from seeing him immediately?

Nice mus lad knocks about with my daughter she is a mus as well same as me and the Mrs.
He had a sports car and was decked out in designer gear.
I suppose coming from a one horse town like scunthorpe you have no clue about life

Front page of online Guardian - main picture of one of the poor guys killed and article.

Also a new story every day of police mistreating people in UK because of their colour.

On the good news side - in an interview TAA said he has never been personally racially abused in his life - speaks volumes about how society has evolved for the good
There’s been 163 people died in police custody in the UK the last 10 years, 140 of them were white.
13 were black and the other 10 of various ethnic groups.

I dislike discrimination fullstop, but I am dismayed at the naivety of everyone jumping on the BLM bandwagon. Does it not concern people that their website fundraising appeal ends with not just the words “liberate Black people”, which would be fair enough, but follows it with “and end white supremacy forever”. Surely nobody believes that they are talking just about the NF or the EDL? For those on here who are white, they’re talking about you and me! And anybody who has ever studied human behaviour knows that where a power vacuum is created, another power steps in. This is not about the laudable, but almost utopian, ideal of global equality, but replacing one power structure with another - black power (at least they were honest when they called it that in the 60s, but it got little mainstream support due to its relatively confrontational moniker). BLM sounds so much nicer and safer, so everyone goes along for the ride! But it has the same goal, and the outcome would not be good for the majority of people on this board, regardless of whether you stood on the protest lines with the new elite!
Some of you may be complete masochists and feel you deserve whatever punishment comes your way due to the sins of your forefathers, like the white idiots here in Australia who bray on about “Invasion Day”, rather than Australia Day - understand that the Indigenous activists who lead that protest don’t want you in their country at all!
I am absolutely not a white supremicist, but I am also not a self-hater who wants to be under the yolk of oppression when the tables turn.
People, generally, crave power, so finding true equality is like searching for a needle in a haystack - that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be looked for and we can all do a lot better in race relations, but there is no evidence to suggest that non-white people would be better at it than whites (check out Hutus and Tutsis, Muslims in western China, Hindus and Muslims in India, Sunnis and Shiites, the tribal wars in South Africa). And one thing is clear from its website and statements, BLM is not the vehicle to bring in real equality - it wants much, much more than that.

I would wonder how much of the increase in hate crime is due to the difference in the way they are classified.

I remember a few years ago one of the younger lads that works for us was in town and a guy who he had never seen before launched himself out of a doorway and head butted him in the face for nothing breaking his nose.
If the same thing happened to today and the victim was not white this would now be reported as a hate crime and it would be listed as a racially motivated crime even if there is no evidence to support it.

I think another thing that might drastically skew the figures are social media posts that people report as offensive. Even if no crime has been committed the police now fill out a crime report and it goes down as an instance of hate crime.
I haven't actually looked into that properly just something I was reading a couple of months back. From what i can gather it's listed as a none criminal hate crime which sounds a bit bizarre, not sure how you can have a none criminal crime like but hey ho, crazy times.
From what i remember reading there are quite a lot of these which would skew the figures dramatically.

I would have to. "Forbidding" my daughter isn't the way my family do things.

She is gay anyway so it won't happen. Just was interested in how people saw it. Got the mixture of responses I expected. Sensible posts whom may disagree but understand we are all different in our thought processes, and the foaming mouthed "I'm right, you are a disgrace" merchants whom probably have me down as a hooded Klansmen / FLA member.

Being open about fear of the unknown mate regarding my most precious possession. Judge away my friend. I don't think Scunthorpe has much to do with it tbf. Nr 1 it's pretty multi-ethnic, and NR 2 I haven't lived there for years.

Don't think there's much danger of a Koran carrying Muslim lad going out on a date with a gay girl, so you're probably fine. 👍
