Black Lives Matter

Seeing a lot of that at present actually.

White people being killed by immigrants without all the pomp and ceremony that’s accompanied the killing of a Black career criminal in USA.

We’ve seen a full Prem league fixture list hijacked by the BLM movement whilst FIFA claim that poppies that signify the ultimate sacrifice made by the bravest of brave men and women are too political.
So are you effectively saying racism is ‘6 of one and half a dozen of another’ and black people should take their ball home?

Another attempt to distract/ discredit based on things not relevant to the issue being discussed.
Your argument here is about as logical as saying you can’t campaign for cancer treatment if you haven’t campaigned for heart disease, diabetes and dementia as well.

Why don't the revolutuonairies address the big picture instead of what looks cool at the book club or gets most likes on Facey?
If I recall it was only the bigoted, racist UK that came to Africa's aid......so stick ya US based generalisations on what we are up ya Fookin hoop...

Why don’t white nationalists stop pretending that they care about the bigger picture and admit that they simply want to stop a movement that is seeking to shine a light on inequality and discrimination in western societies.

I'm not a nazi sweetie, but unlike you my experience isn't internet based I've walked the walk, lived in amongst real inequality, slavery in some of the worlds shitholes.....I don't need a lecture from numbnuts who view the world through twitter.....

In this country it certainly isn’t far off.

We are in danger of now putting black people on a pedestal to the point where they become untouchable. Look at that carry on in London other day, police stop a black kid and have some busy body in their face accusing them of being racist, turns out said kid had a knife!

The same white nationalists who usually claim we should be “helping our own” instead of sending aid money abroad, are now suddenly worried about people in Africa being treated badly by corrupt governments, purely in an attempt to thwart any traction towards proper equality in our own country.

My experience isn’t internet based so don’t patronise me with your man of the world waffle. I don’t care about the hashtags - the discrimination is real, racism is real and something needs to be done about it.
Happy to have a conversation about corruption, genocide, slavery, torture, exploitation or any of the hideous things that go on around the world on a thread relevant to those issues - not on this one that is focused on a movement tackling the treatment of black people in western countries.

Which part of the US you in hun? Where was your campaign before this all happened? You'll be jumping on the Saudi bandwagon next eh?

You're not really thick enough to compare random terrorist attacks (would the protest be against immigrants? Would it be against terrorism? Would it be for gays, as it was gay people who happened to be the victims in this attack?) with systematic racism against blacks, that's gone on for god knows how long so good work ;)

It doesn’t make it ok, not at all but it has nothing whatsoever to do with a movement/ discussion that is focused on race equality. It’s simply a whataboutism that’s been thrown into the mix in the absence of a relevant response.
Sticking to this country:

The reason why many people don't support the BLM movement is because what they say they want isn't actually what they want.
Their first message to you is all we are asking for is equal opportunities to white people, we don't want to take anything from you we just want the same as you.
This is a message that it's really easy to get on board with as the vast majority of us would agree with that 100%, I know I do.
Then however once they have the support on that initial message they start to push their agenda which has nothing to do with equality of opportunity and is all about equality of representation.

In the UK today their are no opportunities afforded white people that are not afforded to black people or if there are I would be very keen for someone to inform me about it, there are no barriers in their way other than the individual prejudice that people have, something every human being faces to varying degrees.
Individual prejudice is not overcome by rioting, looting, forcing someone to employ someone because they have the desired coloured skin etc etc this breeds resentment and division and doesn't help black people.

"Our Country" is probably the most liberal country in the world, why don't the lentil bake mob take your demos to Russia, China, Saudi, Africa......why focus on the rights of a tiny fraction of those seeking equality.....in this country you have the freedom to gob off even if your crack is shoite and violent.....
Whee the fooookin fook has hijacked your account?

Gan Fook am a global thinker norra parochial peanut fookin heed.....

So do you think we should be sending more aid abroad and letting more asylum seekers in then?

I’m assuming since those being persecuted abroad are so much more important than fighting racism in this country, you’d be delighted to campaign in favour of both of those issues.

Racism exists in many forms though, not just someone saying "you're black, you can't have this job".

Take Sterling's example about the media. Two young footballers, one black, one white. They both bought houses for their mams. The black was described as "flash" for buying a house outright with the added "despite never starting a game" whereas it simply said the white player bought a house for his mam.

You think that is in anyway racist?

It's almost as if he's attempting to bait people into abusing him...

Aid abroad is bungs for trade deals - Yes
Me Ma always telt me when people genuinely need help ye give people a roof owa tha heed and some bait.

When I worked in Europe as an economic migrant I was told in no uncertain terms by the lerkels I only got the gig in front of a local because of the company I was working for, again the UK is one of the most weloming, diverse, liberal countries in the world.
Mebbes that's why we don't like being generalised as racist koonts.

If there is systematic racism (and I mean if) then have a discussion by all means.

I think a lot of sympathy has drained for a lot of people regarding this BLM movement due to way the campaigners gave behaved.

Having a full on meltdown because a complete shithouse in USA was killed (wrongly mind) whilst decent people are being killed (wrongly also) in this country isn’t good enough.

If people are going to throw a paddy because a black fella is killed at least make sure that the fella in question wasn’t a scumbag first.
But its being reported he's been sacked for the stunt, not the stuff he's said on social media.

How on earth can you sack someone for saying white lives matter.
If he worked for a large company with decent Union represention he wouldn’t have been sacked, not a chance as no grounds.
