Black Lives Matter

There’s a discussion to be had about some of the motives behind certain organisations under the BLM banner, but the phrase and principle of the phrase “Black Lives Matter” really shouldn’t be offensive to anyone.
I agree that others have jumped on the bandwagon regarding it. I just think if everyone wants equality, which is how it should be totally, then differentiating (Probably sic) between colours just highlights it even more. It was a bloke killed by a policeman the other side of the pond. America has race issues and always has. Way worse than here. I wouldn't want to be a black man in the deep south and i wouldn't want to be a white man walking around Harlem. That suggests there is an issue on both sides.
People actually trying to ban people singing swing low sweet chariot ffs! If someone had said 2 years ago even that that would happen and people would be defacing and trying to pull down Churchill statue i wouldn't have believed you. Now nothing would shock me, as it has gone to a level where if you say ANYTHING about it, then you are classed like the anti christ, even if you believe in equality. That's wrong in my eyes

I have been lucky to have visited a few countries around the world had drinks with Asians in Hong Kong Singapore and Thailand white people in Germany Czech Republic Holland black people in Cuba and Toronto and in numerous cities in the UK and never had an issue with anyone i take everyone as I find them there is good and bad in every race but what I can't get away with is left wing people if you don't have their views your a racist

This. My hope and expectation was that when my generation toddle off this mortal coil, my daughter's generation and those following would have next to no reference with regards to racial difference. Education is the only way we can move forward.
The thing I find sad about is that she has now mentioned differences and that "white people have been bullying black people for ever" (her Mother's work, that).

I think the worry for me is that the alt-right is generally kept in check, I could be very wrong, as for the "progressive" voices on the other side of the same coin are encouraged.

This is something I’ve said before.

When people talk about “both sides of the argument”, I see a lot of people dismiss that as an attempt to create a moral equivalence between being a racist and being anti-racist. Obviously that would be wrong. There isn’t.

But the more dogmatic and illogical elements of “progressive” movements are often incredibly illiberal and won’t be happy until a person’s life is in tatters because they’ve said or done something that they don’t like. These people are given more leeway than people on the extreme right because their stated goal is seen as morally justified, so whatever means they use are seen as equally justified.

You're being played. Who is wanting to ban people singing swing low sweet chariot? Or pull down Churchill's statue for that matter?

Marches for justice for black people have been quickly turned into a fabricated panic among white people that their culture is at risk by equality for black people. It isn't.

You are sounding like Anthony Joshua  Spend your money on Black Pilots not white ones
Am I? Don't recall mentioning any colour whatsoever. I'd like to think that, faced with that offer, I'd have the intelligence to know what kind of shitstorm will invariably follow. It's why I wouldn't fly a 'Death to whites!' banner either, which I feel has absolutely nowt at all to do with being like Anthony Joshua personally.

i never mentioned anything about wages. the fact you say it's poorly supported is exactly my point. starts from grassroots level upwards. primary school theres loads of girls play footy with the boys. senior school it stops. lack of girls teams even though theres plenty who enjoy it.
There is not a lack of girls teams at grassroots level. Both RF and Northumberland leagues have full girls teams.

Older generation: We need everyone to get an education to move forward.

Younger generation: 'goes to University' - Climate change is our biggest threat and racism is a systemic problem.

Older generation: Sick of these university social justice warrior snowflakes.

The RFU are talking about dissuading the fans from doing it. I've never really understood why an old plantation spiritual was sung anyway, other than it was frequently sung in bars long after matches with what rugby players consider "appropriate" charade type movements, including a wanking motion for the word "coming". That seems as good a reason as any for dropping it in the first place. If I remember rightly, it first started being sung when Martin Offiah was at his peak. That's pretty questionable really.

If it read death to black people i would agree 100% the blokes business would be knackered and rightly so. If people read it as white lives matter, and then thought aye but that's not our point, i would understand. It's the total outrage at it. I'm not outraged at the BLM. It's more than disgust people have for anyone not joining in.

Whether what he did was right or wrong, he is going to face a backlash now. In his position, I'd have tried my damnedest to avoid getting involved in this. His business is niche to being with and now some of his potential customers are going to think twice about using him.

Churchills statue was boarded up totally after all the graffiti daubed on it calling him a racist. You have seen the photos haven't you? Who is playing me?

I'm all for equality. I find it embarrassing that there isn't complete equality when it comes to race at this day n age. But I find the coverage and attention it's been given is absolutely staggering. The question that runs in my mind is, who's to say the copper wouldn't of knelt on a white lads neck? Unless I've missed something glaringly obvious and the coppers come out and admitted he did it because he was black, then I apologise.

I will say I find it baffling how little coverage a terrorist attack in England has in comparison to something that happened in America.

I agree it's touchy as everyone has gone super offended by everything. I honestly don't for the life of me understand how agreeing to fly a banner saying white lives matter can offend anyone. That's my opinion . I don't mean it in a racist way.
