VAT to be cut for a year

There is a valid argument for example Taxi drivers etc. who calculate their tax self assessments to be exactly below the threshold of where any meaningful cash values are due. In these circumstances, I’d agree that they get paid what they claim they’ve historically earned.

There must be more instances of self employed people who are legitimate in their claim and fall foul of an arbitrary 36 month ruling?

Edit: I’ve used taxi drivers as an example only of what is a general perception and @johnna fuck off.

Unfortunately, taxi drivers are a terrible example to use if you're trying to stand up for the self-employed and tax paying.

I’m not standing up for anyone 😂

I’m pointing out there is a disparity between individuals and their personal ethics. It’s entirely plausible some self employed people pay their dues and it’s a nailed in fact some people take the piss and this situation serves them right for many years of not paying what’s due.

It’s to do with communal toilets and showers etc, not necessarily the pitch.
It'll hardly be worth them opening at all if they rely on caravans with their own facilities to use these sites. Those folk usually go to caravan club type sites where nothing but a field is provided.

The site my static is sited on is going to close the toilet block for the foreseeable.
Other sites may put other measures in place, but it’s difficult to manage many people needing a shite on a Sunday morning and trying to keep them 2m apart on limited available cubicles/ hand wash basins etc.

Wife's sister has a static there is no toilet block yet the site is still closed. Nearly all statics are self sustaining these days so a toilet block isn't needed unless they also allow tents/ towing vans
When Dave herbal said camp sites aren't accepting tents I thought he meant tent and towing caravan sites. Those sites the vast majority of their business is tents. A lot of caravan owners prefer to use site facilities as well. If they don't allow tents it won't be worth them opening.

Just earn around £12000 a year and pay none.
There’s a solution for you, I’m sure it will make you happy.
I’m not complaining. I said I’m looking forward to it. 🥴

This bloke isn’t a taxi driver. Both my brothers have been caught out with being SE and paying dividends etc. thus legitimately paying as little income tax as possible.

One brother immediately got himself a job at Asda to get him by until his site reopened and the other was lucky enough to not have to worry too much.

The bloke in referring to has worked (employed) since leaving school some 30 years ago and since going SE 20 months ago has paid the correct level of income tax etc. that his earnings have attracted. All his invoices are made by multi national companies so it’s more difficult to avoid.

Agree, my mate is a plasterer and lives in a 350k house and is always splashing the cash, paid less than a grand tax last year, then was twisting on that he doesnt qualify for anything when he couldn't work.

Is there a limit on deposit amounts to (personal) current or savings A/C's that get flagged like in the fillums? Asking for a friend of a friend.

There’s no set amount as far as I know. I think they generally look out for unusual patterns so, if you only ever deposit £100s and suddenly deposit £20k then it may flag up.
