If only he was from that metropolis know as Waaaalsend! Can't help where his roots are from.
Can't help where his roots are from.
Here's me thinking it was up for Premier League approval not Government approval.
You said he has no influence. He is the chair of international trade. He has stated it shouldn't go ahead.
Boris may well say it can go ahead but if you think the premier League wouldnt use expert opinions from the WTO and an expert in international trade as justification to not let the takeover go ahead you are seriously naive.
Like another poster has alluded to. The premier League is a mature product. It doesn't need Saudi money.
If they think the Saudis are going to be more chew than the extra money they'd receive (which isn't guaranteed) they'll block it and due to the WTO report legally there wouldn't be a thing Pif could do to challenge it
And LeicesterSome very bug clubs have though.
Both Sheffield clubs
Leeds
Nottingham Forest (2 European cups)
Half of current Premier league too...
Your only a bad couple of seasons away from serious problems in football. Shows what a good job Ashley has done up the road.
Yep and Wolves and Villa and Southampton. If anything very few who haven't really when you think about it.And Leicester
Great to have the yanks in the background, great future ahead![]()
it’s rapidly becoming the Govt v the PL battling between a major dispute between KSA and Quatar.
Didn’t think he would reply to this the snide little ratOne would expect this, as you are European Monoliths with 11 trophies to your name. We are a lovely L1 team and Boro didn't win a trophy until 2004, so no surprise there.
Try choosing teams you all often profess to be bigger than: Everton (17) and Spurs (17). I think you are on shakey ground playing "Show me your trophies".
You are "big" because you are one team in a provincial northern working class city, and had a bit of moderate (trophy-less) success in the Sky era.
See yourself for what you are, and be proud of it.
I know. I bet City are gutted to be absent from that list, despite having Pep as manager and a squad of world superstars.
What could possibly go wrong.Great to have the yanks in the background, great future ahead![]()
It goes beyond Saudi and Qatar though.
One of the reasons TV Rights are so expensive is that they are supposedly exclusive.
If they let the deal through, it sets a precedent and lowers the value of its product.
It will be very hard for the PL to sell its product as "Exclusive" to the likes of Amazon. If you were Amazon could you trust the PL would keep things as Exclusive after they ignored BeIN and allowed the deal to go through?
It would be a very awkward scenario to think that the Country which allowed piracy would be allowed to benefit through NUFC and the PiF) from legitimate TV money.
Ashley until 2030![]()
