It did absolutely no harm to anyone though. They've got BLM on back of shirts and the logo, don't see why taking a knee was needed

What's politics got to do with football?
Me too. Most are seeing it for what it is, which is to recognise the disadvantages faced by blacks. That's it.
Unless of course you think all those out protesting want rid of the police? LOL.
The English FA and the Premiership have had massive campaigns to Kick it Out etc
This country is suffering riots on this very subject
Yes football should address this
no one should be forced to take the knee, just as no one should be forced not to take the knee
I think the context and the follow up and support and fidelity to this notion are important in deciding whether or not this was the right thing to do, and I don't know those so at the moment I will err on the side of faith in doing the right thing and see this as a good thing
Showing support and respect to a campaign trying to stop the abuse and murder of innocent people who are discriminated against because of the colour of their skin?
"going way over the top with it all"?
Fuck me
Equality, the only problem with all the protests that certainly weren't peaceful is the fact that I genuinely believe that the country is now more divided than it was beforeIt's not a political statement. It's about equality.
Seems relatively stupid to use the exact same slogan and name as a radical politial group of crazed imbeciles then really doesn't it?
So rather than violent protests, we should do things peacefully?Equality, the only problem with all the protests that certainly weren't peaceful is the fact that I genuinely believe that the country is now more divided than it was before
I think that poster is getting confused behind 'Black Lives Matter' and the supposedly fraudulent 'Black Lives Matter Foundation" whom GoFundMe have frozen hundreds of thousands of donations to when it discovered they were donated in errorSomeone previously on here sums it up quite well;
I agree with the 3 words themselves - black lives do matter & I support equality.
However, the organisation behind it is a bit more sinister. Have a look on their gofundme page - they want to abolish the police and want to bring down the existing system (without a feasible suggestion for an alternative).
By getting "black lives matter" on each of the player's shirts the premier league are now deemed to be supporting this, not sure how they'll square that when crowds return and police are needed.
I'd rather they had "kick racism out" on the back of their shirts than "black lives matter"
It was pretty powerful tbh, no one expected it and they made a statement.
Interesting how those who have been against the protests, siding with Tommy's taties, don't think discrimination exists and are generally anti immigration are now saying its not black lives matter message they have an issue with, its the other bits, that nee one is even aware of (like getting rid of the police) that the organisation proposes that's the problem.
Can't say I did tbh mate. When you saw it did you instantly think of the BLM organisers wanting to bring down the existing system and get rid of the police?
