Andrew Marr asked Professor Robert Azvedo the Director of the World Trade Association on his politics show this morning about the implications of the Saudi governments alleged breaking of the sports streaming rules.

He said it was a very serious breach of the rules but was evasive as to when a decision would be reached on this.

Its seems safe to assume the decision is being deferred until the full WTO judgment.

After watching many TV shows this last week it is clear once that one thing is for certain hen, once they have a foot in the premier league they will not adhere to the rules, financially speaking.

There won’t be a judgement by the WTO, it’s just a report that’s being released. The WTO Court of Arbitration isn’t functioning given it isn’t quorate. The report is in relation to the Saudi state and PIF the body that is taking over Newcastle is a separate legal entity and cant be held responsible. You should read the Football Law report I posted, read the conclusion.

So you are saying its good news for you?

You also need to read this as PIF are a separate legal entity from The Saudi state. You don’t need to read all, just the conclusion.

Seriously, you’re saying that the Saudi state’s investment fund has nothing to do with the Saudi state. Next you’ll be saying that MBS, the investment funds chairman has nothing to do with MBS, the crown prince who is the currently pulling all the strings in the Kingdom Of Saudi.

It’s like arguing that technically, Madrox is a separate legal entity from SAFC if you really want to clutch at straws. It’s still the same person running the show.

Essentially yes, do read the football law report, there’s a footnote that Quatari and Saudi layers accept that PIF is a separate legal entity.

It’s not me who’s saying that, it’s lawyers, it doesn’t matter what you and I think.

Pretty sure that the Yorkshire Ripper’s lawyer put forward a case to clear his client of all wrong doings as well, that’s a lawyers job. They don’t have to say what really happens, just tell a version of events that will make their client look innocent. Most intelligent people tend to see through this kind of thing though.

I havent read it but sounds like a bit of a stretch that the body set up to speed Saudi money around the world has zero influence from that state.

Allost a bit like the UK government saying that what the Department of Transport spends has nowt to do with the government.

No he is saying they are separate legal entities not that they have nothing to do with each other.

He is saying exactly what I told you the other week which is the PIF is legally nothing more than a company based in Saudi that invests the wealth of the KSA on behalf of the KSA.
As such the question, will MBS fail the O&D may well be moot because he might not even be subject to the O&D.

Potentially another eight weeks for Boss Eyes court claim against Barclays to be settled.

Wonder if Big Mike will wait that long for his money?

I watched about 10 mins of it at work she was getting ripped to shreds like.

Barclays will have hired the best lawyers available mind.

I’ve heard the government are massively leaning on the PL to sign this off.
it doesn’t take a genius to know that post Brexit the govt want as much outside investment as possible.

Remind me again, who is the chairmen of the investment fund. He may not be technically the owner, but he is the main man.

Great to read today hat Saudi Arabia have donated hundreds of thousands of medical gowns today to the UK.
Foreign secretary Dominic Raab has been rightfully praising them today for their kindness and generosity.
