Yup, everything I've read says that, despite the piracy issues, it's expected to go through.

I don't think anyone expected it to be quite this messy, but everybody seems to be remaining confident.
If it goes through it will be interesting to see how messy it actually was and how much was media circus.
Obviously if it doesn't go through we will know exactly how messy it was.

out of the people that actually know whats going on and are not guessing:
Saudis have said nothing
Reuben Bros have said nothing
Premier League have said nothing
Staveley has said through a couple of journalists: absolutely confident, no red flags, piracy has nothing to do with those involved in the taker over and it will go through.

It will be interesting to see if all these potential blockers in the press have come from genuine sources telling them there are problems or if they are just making news up.
No smoke without fire as they say but I wonder how much is fire and how much is just smoke.

me too, time will tell, f***ing dragging on though.

Don't blame you, if the shoe was on the other foot and it was your deal and it fell through, i'd be laughing my cock off.
I would expect no less.

I'm staying hopeful.
I have not heard a journalist say they don't think it will go through, even if they are reporting a problem with the take over, when asked they all tag on the end they still think it will go through.
All the interviews I have seen with legal people say they think it will go through in the end.
The industry people I have heard speak of it, like Simon Jordan say it will go through.

That said with our luck it probably won't but until I start to hear credible people say they now think it won't i'm going to try and remain optimistic.
I think you are ruling out the Americans prematurely imho

I think describing this takeover as messy is, if anything, understating it. Mike Ashley, 3 party bidders, 1 of which the investment arm of a foreign state, a state with atrocious human rights history, which is embroiled in a geopolitical cold war with another state who happens to own a preferred media partner of the PL, during an oil-price crash, during a global pandemic.

If she opened a door to find this mess, Marie Kondo would have a shitfit.

He doesn't trigger me mate....I just don't like the bloke ....never have ......he's a fine one to talk about morality after what he done to his wife.

Totally agree he is an absolute wanker but he has done the majority of your fans like just need to look at his twitter to find out.
