No fans allowed due to lockdown. Assuming we win the next 3 cup ties like.
City will probably beat us 8-0 though
 
Good that been established beyond all doubt that Newcastle have won a European trophy. Doubts persist about the aesthetic nature of the prize itself but that a matter for the approving body & doesnt detract from the worthy winners.

Sounds good Benji, did you you manage to get a ticket for the final? Bet there were thousands of your lot locked outside but still went along for one of your great European escapades. What a time to be alive eh.

Typical of Newcastle to do well when nobody can enjoy it. Think our chance has gone though. Were due to play City at 8pm on a Saturday night in March. Would've been a good atmosphere. Now behind closed doors in July will be like a training game for City.

So you won a certificate for being one of 11 winners who then got knocked out of the UEFA cup.

Bit like 15th runner up in the Miss Northumberland beauty pageant

I’m not defending them,I’m pointing out a number of interesting facts about European club competitions, for example teams who played in the first 5 European Cup’s were selected by a French newspaper.Nowt to do with the mugs just pointing out something which very few people knew.UEFA not recognising the first 3 European Cup-Winners Cup competitions was another.How about the one club one city rule was still in place for the first two seasons of the UEFA Cup .Leeds Utd are the current or last winners of the Fairs Cup.Lorimer on 20 goals is the second top goal scorer in the Fairs Cup.I give them plenty stick.On more than one occasion I’ve gone against public opinion and said I believe they’re still in a relegation fight.Facts and opinions marra.I hope you’ve found my facts interesting 😉

It was the FA that carried on the one club one city rule, not uefa.
The fajrs cup competition changed massively from its early days to the end of the 60s/early 70s. That's why uefa took it over. It was lucrative.
