agree and my point being a successful team brings bigger attendances.
Put it this way if this takeover goes through you won’t be giving away half season tickets. I personally know 5 nufc season ticket holders that were packing in their season tickets at the end of this season. Everyone I have spoken to said if for whatever reason this takeover doesn’t go through they are packing in their season tickets. I would guess that it’s down to another season of Ashley.
I am not talking white i know there is more skunks in the North East but I know who are the better fans

Nufc historicaly get more through the gate than safc.
Does it mean they have better fans NO
Does it mean they have more fans YES
My take on it is simply this they have a slightly bigger catchment area, they also are the biggest city in the North east which brings more tourists and more students who are more likely to go to the matches
I'm proud that I live in the North east, south tyneside as it happens and I genuinely believe that we have the most passionate football fans in the country

No saying you had no support. You just didn’t have as many go to games based on the fact you were an average first division team. The money from Hall and bringing Keegan in was bound to excite fans.
Wow put it this way I know who are the better fans in Consett and Stanley and it's not the skunks.
Absolutely success brings bigger crowds and Newcastle’s higher crowds than Sunderland were certainly swelled off the back of the relative success of the Keegan years.
If / when takeover happens and theirs a sign of intent, I fully agree that tickets will again be in demand.
Would Sunderland have pulled larger crowds if roles were reversed ? Of course we’ll never know but I’d certainly think so.

If roles were reversed and we hit the 90s premier league boom with the investment and management Newcastle had whilst they sat in the first division. Do you think as a club our status would be different.
I completely agree regarding the attendances mind. There are many people that visit Newcastle for a day/night out and even fans from away teams who play Sunderland stay in Newcastle on the night for the night life etc. Like many London teams they will have many that go to see the stadium while they are there and attend a match. Sunderland doesn’t have that to offer and yet still get good crowds.

I personally don’t think as many as Newcastle no but that’s because Newcastle as a City has had far more investment and has more tourism. With more tourists you’ll certainly get more attending games.

Newcastle is the capital of the North East and that means that they will attract a lot of people who would rather go to St James than the sol
What I will say is this even though they will always get more fans through the gate it doesn't and will never make them BETTER fans than us
There’s many variables when it comes to attendances. I know for a fact that the huge growth in Newcastle’s stag do culture has resulted in extra seats being sold. Tourism generally across the premier league accounts for a lot of tickets nowadays. London clubs particularly are selling shit loads because of it.

It's not rocket science really newcastle is a major city they have the pulling power of any other major city in the fact that it's a place for hundreds of thousands of tourists, daytrippers etc
To be fair, there's a fair bit of hypocrisy from those that have for years, rightly, criticised the sale of arms etc to the Saudis when they were used to murder their neighbours, and not to mention their medieval and cruel treatment of their own people, yet seem to think them fit to run English football clubs.
Many will, if pushed, hold their noses to be on speaking terms with the Saudis if it means jobs and money for the UK, along with an ally in such an unstable part of the world. Not sure "holding your nose" for the sake of a new famous number 9 is quite the same.
