Not sure about the source but the agent of Koulibaly said that although Man U and Liverpool wanted the player Newcastle had offered a higher fee and wage for him.

I really can''t see players like this coming to Newcastle at the moment, can't see them being overly impressed by our none league style training facilitates or the wheelie bin with their number on it they get to climb in.

Id agree but it doesn't mean the club won't be bidding for these players. Man City had to start somewhere. Once two or three sign momentum starts to build. They all say they want to win trophies but they all love money too.

FIFA run football marra. UEFA and the FA didn't organise the Fairs cup.

Look at those club websites. They list those trophies as major honours - because they are.

Be proud. The North East has a Major European trophy in the locker.
 
If it goes through hopefully we rebuild from the ground up in a effective and timely manner and not just throwing as much money we can at certain players.

You may well be right and cash is king as they say.
I do think we will make some good signing this window assuming the take over goes through but I think they will be good by our standard and more modest than the papers are claiming.
