This is the worst time I can remember supporting us and we've had loads of proper shite to put up with in the past. I can't see anyway back for the owners, although to sell something they need to be able to agree a deal with interested parties and in today's current climate I can't see anybody wanting to buy a league 1 club that is a financial clusterfuck, I honestly am really worried about what is going to happen to us.

The 10 mill loan from FPP was a joke, Charlie said he had a massive list of things they could be getting on with and reeled afew things out. 2 month later Donald appears on BBC Newcastle saying that he hasn’t spent a penny of it and that Juan would have invested the money anyways but we didn’t want him to. Also got to remember when Donald came in first thing he did was look for a loan, was reported in the paper and got absolutely slaughtered for it. He only put any money in to buy the club because he knew he’d get it all back and more when selling, it’s all went tits up and it’s why he was so under pressure on STID2 imo.

No. I've seen Kildare posts with a time stamp the same as when I've been in the same place as Methven and him nowhere near his phone. Possibly one of his gophers, and most likely not even that.

Same here. They banked on getting up first season and selling, second at a push. I bet they never once anticipated a third season in this league and no buyer.

1, I can not and will not defend all their actions, they took on more than they could chew, they made errors in judgement on the manager and the scouting staff.
They did what they did with the best intentions, it's like a lot of business outside footy, it just did not go the way they wanted.
2. if the new guys don't happen, we have to hope FPP leave the balance of the loan/funding in place for team strengthening.(in fact we don't have another option) SD will not give the club to people who are less able to run the club than him.
3. IMHO if FPP leave the balance of the funds I think that's as good as it will get, please remember that's just IMHO.
4. Depends on the Cat of the AOL if we lose the cat 1 IMHO it will be a weight of our shoulders, just look at the results to see it needs massive change over there.
5. They have not, also I do not know the details of the payback other than an arrangement was structured, a poster on here sent me a PM with what appeared to be a well informed and detailed summary of the agreement.
6. My only view is I honestly believe we would have gone into administration loads on here think SAFC are to big a club for that, the fact Short bailed most of the debt, he did not clear ALL the hidden stuff.
7. yes SD CM and a few senior folks at the club read this. OH and PS the lad who posted SD's personal number on twitter should be named and shamed.
Bob, cheers for posting so openly mate. But that fact that these reprobates view this forum and you speak so openly about them and their erm plans, goes to show that you are indeed being used to hawk them around, in a vain attempt to quell any unrest. Obviously some people fall for it and far more not so. The only real thing myself and many others want to know is when Mr Man of his word is likely to fuck off. Now I realise he has to have a buyer and also the old COVID didnt help, but we are fast approaching the 2nd target date for this to have gone thorough and Harry Flashman Methven is nowhere to be seen. The world was in the grips of COVID when he stated his target date of the end of the month. Both Homer and Harry have told us numerous times that we are on a good financial footing, so we should be expecting an update on that soon, if indeed they are “fully committed to selling”. I think it is fairly obvious to others that he had no intent on selling and COVID has given him a cast iron excuse for not doing so. I just wish for once they would state via the club their real intentions and stop flannelling unbelievably uneducated Sunderland fans, who if I’m honest Harry also dislikes. Yes they may have bitten off more than they can chew but they need to be man enough to admit, and I doubt they are, that they have failed, the job is too big for them, it was a risk THEY took and therefore they should Also suffer the consequences not the club. Thanks for trying, we would all have been pleased if SD had took us up first time, it never happened and he has made us worse. Time for you to leave and take your circle of friends with you please and if you ever buy another football club again, just remember the numerous mistakes you have made. You are small time, know your level, even then you weren’t very good at that, but we all have our limits, mine isn’t being an Account Director, yours isn’t being an owner of a League Club. Go back to car leasing, have some fun with the money you have, forget the stress of owning a football club and live life to the full. Flashman can go and fuck off the unscrupulous, repugnant greasy bellend

I would be very impressed if he could find someone more incompetent than himself

I think it is fairly obvious to others that he had no intent on selling and COVID has given him a cast iron excuse for not doing so.

I'm pretty sure he is absolutely desperate to sell.

He will sell to the 1st person to make any kind of decent offer. He will even take a loss because it looks like the majority of football clubs are going bust. Even some in the Prem will fail.

However, no one in their right mind would be buying a football club at the moment.

Football finances are fucked and will not survive this current situation.

The main point that I have a bit of an issue with is point 4 about the academy. The academy should not be viewed as a weight around our necks. It should be the shining light of the club, and the cat 1 status was hard earned. IMO running that down and losing that status would be the height of mismanagement.

4. after all the work getting a Cat 1 academy, it’ll be a disgrace if we lose it now because this lot can’t afford or don’t have the knowledge / people in post to run it properly

Yes, I agree. I've been going to the match since 1974 and can't remember a worse time.
1. We were expecting a young, vibrant, hungry squad - we've got a bunch of plodding journeymen in Grigg, Power, McLaughlin (the RB), Lafferty, Maguire etc. There are only 3 players in the first team who I value - Gooch, O'Nien, Willis.
2. We have a manager who is about as inspirational as Mick Buxton (probably the other real low). He came with an appalling career win rate of 36% (the worst of all those linked) and has somehow, after 30 games, worsened his own win rate. Donald keeps shouting that we have the highest paid squad in the Division - well he needs to acknowledge that Parkinson delivering 7th or 8th - a worse position than he inherited from Ross - is abject failure. Does Donald believe he has the man to deliver promotion next year? I highly doubt it.
3. It is apparent that we had one of the most promising group of 15/16 year olds for a long time. They have now been touted about to the big boys and sold for maybe £1.5M - we will never see that money and I presume this will benefit Donald only. Effectively he has flogged off the family jewels that took 7 or 8 years to develop.
4. Despite the utter failure listed above Donald wants to get a fat profit out of this, to the extent that potential buyers are put off.
In clearing the debt Donald was given a golden opportunity and has squandered it. I defy anyone, even Donald or Methven to give me one single reason to optimistic. And hope is all we cling to as football fans.

you and madbob man, how are they still getting replies off people? fruitloops man.
Yet you get utter idiots on here still defending them and saying they havnt lied

They need to fuck off asap before they do anymore damage

One thing to add to all this discussion is the fact the accounts still haven't been filed. The forum "experts" in this field reckoned everyone would be using the available extension, but that Swiss Ramble football finance blogger has done quite a few pieces in recent weeks on EFL clubs who have filed theirs, so claiming everyone would do it was clearly more bollocks aimed at deflecting attention or criticism levelled at the owners.

Number 2 but he was selling to Mark Campbell a complete chancer who if you look on a search engine anywhere all that comes up is red lights failed businesses, sexual harassment cases, who was a taxi driver 4 years ago 🤷🏻‍♂️ etc etc

Cracking post and number 3 is the point that most pisses me off. As you say, he's sold of an entire team of really highly-rated young uns who we've developed for 6-8 years for fuck all.
As it probably take 10 years for the development, we'll not be seeing either our own players coming through to the first team or serious money for players for at least a decade, for the sake of £1.5m or so.
Anyone defending him, just consider that for a moment. What the fuck are we going to do for the next 10 years?
