EFL-No extended play offs

Least we can park a double decker at the fence end and watch the play off home leg. :D:D

Every cloud and all that.

How are Chortle & Stew getting on? Have you got them worked out?

51% - so the bottom half plus 1 team is enough to cancel the season - the teams at risk of relegation, and those with nothing to play for.

I do think 67% should be the minimum to change the rules during a season.

To be honest it seems most of our fans didn’t even want to have a shout at promotion anyway, they’ll be happy at this news.
The defeatist attitude has shocked me like. I reckon had Blackpool not been called off at the last minute we’d have been top 6. The previous 4 games were shit no doubt but it’s not like the teams above us were Barca, Real or City etc. Most teams in the top 6 were in mixed form.

2 of us, Peterborough and Wycombe are going to be royally shat on. Us and Peterborough could well be capable of putting together a decent legal team. It’s an absolute farce, especially given some clubs played Bolton U21’s and some, like us, had to play Bolton’s senior team twice. Not to mention the Bury farce. The table is far too tight for any serious judgements to be made. Corrupt you could well say.

Says the EFL, not League 1 so if 51% of all clubs (championship and league 1) vote for season to carry on the. I assume the other clubs will have to abide by that decision so there is a slim chance the season can resume.

Edit I've read the statement again and it says if 51% of clubs in that league vote to scrap the season so that'll be us screwed!

I don't think it's that fans don't want us promoted, it's more they see things going from really bad to absolutely sh*t if we're promoted under this chancer.

We wouldn’t have beaten the teams around us anyways. I really hope we sack Parkinson. He’s not the man we need to take us forward

League one next season could well mean liquidation for the club. Championship TV money could well save us. How on Earth are we going to survive as a football club with no gate money ? Even if we don’t win a single game in the championship, it’s better than having no club at all.

Not surprised in the slightest. Extending playoffs was a no go anyway. Silly idea that was floated. The season wont carry on. It will go on PPG and we will have a third year in this shit league. Watching it all unfold on a f***ing garbage stream too.
we deserve nothing less

I'm really disappointed by this. It's not on. You simply cannot go with a basic majority on this where there are vested interests skewing the vote.

It also sticks in my throat how f***ing shit we were against Bolton and how we fucked up again.

I'm sick as chips tbh.

Peterborough probably happy enough to finish 6th and have a crack at the playoffs.

Won’t this system result in them finishing 7th given Wycombe had a game in hand ? Looking at the table, the play offs has to involve 6 and not 4, it’s so tight. For any of us, Wycombe and Peterborough to miss out on a crack at promotion is a scandal.

I know, deeply worrying and certainly illustrates the levels of despair we’re all feeling. I’m sure people didn’t protest in 1990 when an unexpected opportunity presented itself.
