I've seen some Irish mag on Twitter going on about past British activities as some sort of defence for their new owners. It's weird behaviour and not just a Newcastle thing but a football fan thing, where many of us will leap to the defence of the club regardless of how bad the issue is.

deserve to compete at the top because 40,000 paying customers and 10,000 going on free season tickets. Wonder if they’ll let us back in the Premier League then in that case, if it’s just based on attendances.

I once worked with a lad, who was involved in non league football in a small commercial way and was also on the football talk in fairly frequently as a guest. He used to say that they should look uon man u and arsenal as there rivals. I asked him, where did that come from. To prove their ambition he replied. ambition in not facing reality I told him. he never spoke to me again, which was fine as he was a smug little sod anyway

yeah ive seen a few mention the british empire haha

they keep mentIoning but what about sheffield united, thats a different unrelated group though
