You're a f***ing laughing stock on here a bloke pretending to be a sunderland fan you tragic bastard

Different type of person the mag, they are more obsessed with Sunderland AFC than most of us, you only have to look at how many have been to our games over the past 2 years.

And now they're playing football manager and getting excited over the potential results of players they might sign. What is wrong with them?

Some good points in here but disagree about the Everton jealousy. I worked in Liverpool for 10yrs and it was painful listening to the Evertonians, the Reds used to call them and still do, "bitter blues."

Most of my best mates are Evertonians (I live on the Wirral). Yes, they are bitter (Heysel fallout etc.) but they are far from jealous. Moreover, everyone of them hates the mags!

The sovereign wealth fund will expect some return from the investment i.e. top flight tv income.

This will mean that the operating model probably won’t change - the irony is that Ashley has managed nufc well and the money making capability is what attracted the Saudis.

I think that their aim will be continual mid table mediocrity.
Haven't you lads being telling us it's sports washing plain and simple for the last 3 weeks.
Now you're saying it's an investment, they are in it to make a profit.

Which is it, sports washing or investment for profit?
Lets have a bit consistency please.

Asset stripping and tv cash.

I can’t see any major signings to be honest, more of the JoeLinton range of player.

It will give them first dibs on any Saudi players....If, as I have heard, they ban alcohol, pork products and gambling to make it Shariah compliant and get the Mosque in place they will also be able to attract top Muslim players. I am sure they will trade no drink/gambling to sign Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba, N'Golo Kante, Mohammed Salah ....
