How would you balance the books Rocko? You still haven't told me how you'd make them stay?
So if it was shit in the Prem it's not really the Don's fault, is that what you're saying Rocko?
I see no zanyness just endless problems, no solutions from the RTG Illuminati....
Engaging with the parents of the academy players, having a clear pathway through the squads and not actively hawking them about might just improve the academy and player retention. If a player can see a planned pathway into higher squads they might just prefer this than being a number in a top 6 premier team academy miles from home.

Why would you want them as owners?
They are being backed by a Dutch billionaire who is worth £3bn.

Koeman is an experience coach.
Bergkamp worked at Ajax as a youth coach and director.
Larsson has worked as a coach.
Kuyt has being working with Feyenoord.

They all have vast experience in football and played in some of the top leagues in Europe.

The Dutch method is probably the best model for a club like us to follow. They focus on developing youth and smart recruitment. Develop players sell them on for a profit and reinvest the the club. Just look at what Ajax, Feyenoord, PSV and AZ have being doing.

Make them stay? I'd want to create a culture and structure that makes them want to stay. We don't have that now. We have the complete opposite. You seen happy with that though.
Once Donald bought the club it became his problem and its got worse. Who should I blame for that?

Your whole argument is bizarre. It's basically accept this shit show unless you can find someone to fix the problems.

You lambast the club for being unable to stop little Johhny picking a Manure or Liverpool shirt and so his Ma can brag in the butchers queue, when in reality the academy has failed for far bigger problems than the Don has introduced.....we have premier league facilities we've had Dutch coaches giving master classes on tikka tacka and they still won't stay....

Is it not safe to assume that someone like Bergkamp who came through a world famous era of the world famous ajax youth academy and later was involved with them in a coaching capacity may have a better idea on how a successful football club than a chap who liked going to a game in the 80s?

When it comes to us nothing is safe

You just know it would all come crumbling down somehow.
Yeah, we'd pick the only Dutch fellas who believe in 44 f'ing 2 and percentage balls into the corner.

I think the summer before last we should have focused the club around the academy, made it the heart of the club. There's a hell of a lot we can learn from Dutch and German football and the fellas involved in this consortium seem to have been involved in the relevant areas after retiring (though I don't know how well they've done). I'd love the the academy to aim to produce well rounded people, not just footballers, as a way of offering something to young players that other academies aren't. Long term it's the only way I can see us being competitive at the top level (developing our own and young, signed players) and I know a lot of people will disagree but I'd have been happy for a couple of years in league 1 as we readjusted the club in that way as long as we could see progress on that front. It was a chance to totally rebase the club and I feel it's been wasted.

Couldn't agree more, it was a fantastic opportunity to restructure the club with long term focus wasted by the latest in a long line of short term thinkers.

But would Bergkamp drink pints in the Colliery Tavern and sit in with the fans? Make smart comments on Twitter about NUFC and act like a nice man?

The fact people are just dismissing the Dutch idea out of hand shows that there is a problem with how people think.

If we're in a position to cherry pick, can we just not go for the Madrid model instead?
