I wouldn’t let it bother you mate, just one of the sportswashed already thinking they’re kings of the world, says something about them that even though they’re all getting their cans oot about their impending subjugation they still think it’s more important to focus on our travails.
To most supporters the relative difference between the standing of the two teams is important.

Beyond that statement I do not wish Sunderland any ill. Certainly, not the destruction of the club that is important to a community not so far from mine.

Yes but that blood flows down the streets of many cities that are closer to the Premier League.

Additionally, if there was relative certainty about the growth in football finance and Sunderland’s ability to compete then contrarian philosophy I would agree with.

They clearly are targetting an underperforming business, which SAFC was before Covid-19, which is when FPP were looking to buy. As I said previously, they were thought to be interested in investing in the region as well, which is also ripe for it.

They weren't interested in paying for a Premier League club, for the most part they're at their potential.

So all the press that are revealing these things are mags?
Aye, making it all up  Everything is peachy. Donald’s a God, we should be building a statue of him, saved us and gave us our club back. I honestly think there’s a few could catch him sunk to his nuts in their partners and would tickle his balls for him. We should just accept the total clusterfuck the club has become because if we dare to complain we are magesque and we should no our place

I'm dubious about that as well. Pretty much same article and presented as a shocking revelation, which it was not. In fact that is a great example and believe the originator is indeed a mag. Craig Hope? Have I got that right? Apologies if not.

The Echo aren't Mags though and do you think they can afford to be sued?
Just replied about that. All comes from one article and one source. It was presented as a shocking revelation which it is not. We got to stop falling for this stuff.

Falling for what? Methven and Donald have mentioned it fleetingly prior whilst giving vague answers to when it would be paid back.

Sure, but Covid-19 changed the world that would be my only observation.

Sunderland A.F.C. bought at £15m with that potential is ordinarily a bargain. None of life’s certainties exist anymore and I do not believe normality will return to the economy for many years.

Money is better kept in the bank to see if this is a “dead cat bounce” and global asset prices will plummet below March 2020 values?

There's a risk after any change of ownership - you only need to talk to Villa and Derby fans about that. Personally, I think it's either mindbogglingly stupid or an act of desperation, but it can never be rules out under any owner.
That’s the bit that concerns me, marra. I think that Donald is stupid enough and may end up being desperate enough. I used to think he was not dishonourable enough but as time goes on even that belief is eroded. Fingers crossed it doesn’t come to that.

Not a clue. They were clearly very close to a deal last August. and still close enough for them to make the loan. I think they're interested, but not on Donald's terms.

I mentioned this ages ago, that I thought this was a possibility. These are big players and they see massive potential otherwise they wouldnt have done what they did. as you say, something happened they are not happy with but appears they are still interested. As I know nothing about finance other than laymans very basic level, I can see no reason for them loaning safc £10 million, other than as way to get first dibs. That money really is chicken feed to them, so they can walk away and just leave it and see what happens.
by the way, thank you for your unbiased knowledge / opinion

They happily employed one who slated the klerb though....that's alreet though eh?

It's speculation, they already have £9m in the club, which might end with them acquiring it anyway. There will be money to be made at the end of this downturn.

Respect you as a poster mate, I think you bring a lot to the board, what’s your take on the current situation? I can see why people are up in arms, it’s just a constant stream of knacker kicks at the minute, I even have random Mags trying to get me to bite on Twitter.

Bit early to be sniffing glue surely!

FPP have played a magnificent long game which will hopefully be coming to fruition soon.

They saw the issues during due diligence so stepped back but never went away.

They’ve let SD and CM back themselves into a corner like little trapped mice and will eventually pounce like the intelligent fat cats they are.

Rats not mice

The mags would want us to he happy with Donald. I have no doubt about that.
Watching Sunderland til I die, Donald comes across as an earnest and sincere man. His big mistake seems to be Grigg but it was borne out of a real desire for the football team to be successful.

The scene where his wife pleads with him to pack it in due to the fan criticism and she despairs how they do not understand what a nice man he is, I had genuine pathos.
