still think it’s a weird time for anyone to buy a football club. Next season there will be no gate receipts, corporate hospitality, drinks/food etc.
This ^^
I think if this gets derailed it’ll be due to the huge uncertainties for the game connected to this virus. The FA and premier league will do the square root of fuck all to stop it.

Quick, look over there....

aye but, what-about. Talk about straw clutching 😂😂😂 Regardless of shite like that, if this goes through, they own it. They don’t care about MBS or the PIF. They want the money. They should just be honest about it.

I don't think that's the case.
Barcelona have transfer listed all but two of their players and
You’ll pay very much the same for any top half player it could be cheaper fee but more wages the players won’t miss out someone will always be willing to up the stakes, you’ve always been able to pick up a bargain relative to transfer fee’s and you’ve always had big money flops,
The likes of Everton West Ham Leicester wolves going to stand aside and let Newcastle have the pick of these cut prices players?? Not a chance.

I agree, I can't see the premier league knocking it back.
I think it's in their best interest financially.
I'm not sure if they could knock it back legally even if they wanted to.
Knocking it back would be a sizeable diplomatic incident so the government will be leaning on them to put it through.

They can’t. As you say the political fall out would be too much for them.

No, but, if the deal goes through, we'll have more cash and more FFP wiggle room than those clubs.

If it were rejected due to the Saudi’s having the ability to influence another club (Sheffield Utd), then it would have nothing to do with politics, piracy or human rights and simply be down to the existing F.A. Owners rules, which Staveley should have been well aware of.

This would allow the whole thing to be dealt with in a sensitive manner. However money talks and I’d be very surprised if it were to be blocked despite everything indicating it should be.
