People on here have been accusing me of being taken in by sport washing and overlooking human rights issues.
Usually I would argue the point with them but my Keffiyeh has just arrived from Amazon so i'm about to rush out to the tattooist to get the Saudi flag tattooed across my shoulders.
As-Salam-u-Alaikum my friends.

Award-winning crack

He won it three times didn't he? 1994-97 twice with Blackburn and once with the Mags. Might be wrong though!!??

Presume you mean the award for Premier League top scorer in a season? Phillips won the European Golden Shoe in 99-00 and is the only Englishman to do so.

In those seasons Shearer was prem top scorer someone in another European top league scored more.

Jardel (and maybe others) scored more in 99/00 but scored lower on the points system

I see someone playing in the League of Wales won it in the early 90s. Somehow feels like that shouldn't count
During this period, an interregnum of sorts, a winner wasn't announced by l'Equipe who started the award. There was an argument with one of the smaller leagues

"Since ESM took over the rights and the adminstration from Adidas the formula changed. Now scoring in the top five leagues of Europe is twice as much worth as scoring in the lower leagues. Every goal scored in the five top leagues is ranked with two points. In the lower leagues with one point. Between we find countries/leagues where a goal is honoured with 1,5 point.
The ranking of countries is based on the UEFA coefficient-list, which determines the number of clubs to be invited to act in the Champions League and the Europe League. "

Premier league goals are more weighted than goals in lesser leagues. I appreciate you're a mag and other than your DSS and sister's telephone numbers I do not expect much knowledge from you.

Yes. Sorry I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here
