when is the takeover happening? any chance it could collapse?
Best guesses from people are sometime this week.
Yes there is a chance it could collapse, it's Newcastle, takeovers not happening is something we have become accustomed to.

Wheres your avatar gone? I miss it

My last one was of an audience member from either a South Shields or Sunderland (can't remember which) recording of Question Time. Old bloke with a noncey moustache and straw hat.

I now don't have avatar priveleges
Nope just the usual daily stories by journalists that don't know anything.

Same old then.

Do you feel like no news is good news or get a bit more anxious with each day? Or just not arsed?

Not expecting any news til it's done, or it fails. Obviously I'd want it done asap, but if the O&D test usually takes 2-4 weeks and started around the 9th of April, it'd be 4 weeks on the 6th of May. Given there'll be logistical problems caused by COVID I'm expecting it'll take at least 4 weeks, maybe more. Repeatedly hearing, "No red flags", but obviously the longer it goes on, the more doubt and anxiety builds.

Do you feel that maybe someone was leaking news to the media and saying the deal is further along than it is?

Personally I think that it only seems longer because nothing else is going on in regards to football and sports news are dragging it out.

I've been actively avoiding television coverage of the news out of COVID news fatigue syndrome.

Today programme on Radio 4 in the morning and that's about it.

I'm usually a news addict, but like you, I'm getting bored with the repetition.

Still, if the NUFC takeover actually happens, no doubt all hell will break out...

Just my opinion, but I feel the F.A. feel they have to drag it out before agreeing, to give the impression that they have looked into the allegations and issues seriously.

The F.A. themselves have tried several times to sue the Saudi government for Piracy and loss of revenue and early this year requested the USA to keep them on the naughty list. Couple this with the fact it would fail one of their own tests in that the Saudi’s would be in a position to hold influence over another club means this should have been rejected fairly quickly.

The longer it goes on, the more it appears to me that the F.A. are looking for ways around these issues in order to accept the Saudi money.

If there is an extended travel ban then how will Ashley sign the contract at the same time as the Saudis?

If shops can open again soon then will Ashley no longer be desperate for £££s?

If oil prices tank will the Saudis need to save their shekels?

Personal opinion is no news is neither good or bad, I wouldn't expect any now until its done or falls through.
I don't think there will be anything credible until the day it's announced or the premier league block it or someone pulls the plug.

I get more anxious with every passing day, I'll be gutted if it doesn't.

I think if it doesn't happen within a week then it won't happen.

I am very much arsed about it.

I think Ashley leaked the news to the New York times initially probably in the hope that another buyer would come in and start a bidding way.
I think there was no further leaks until it went to the premier league, then I think someone at the premier league leaked that.
Then someone found the stuff on companies house which popped the lid on it.
since then I think Staveleys camp have been saying they are confident there will be no problems, probably when ever asked to anyone that asks them about it, but saying little else.
The Saudi's are saying it's done and will be announced in the coming days.

I think the next leak will come from someone at the premier league and it will be to say it's been rubber stamped and a official announcement will break soon after.
Or a leak from the premier league saying it might be blocked.

For the life of me I can not see the Premier league coming out with a statement which essentially says they do not see the Saudi Royal family as being fir to own an English club. This would be a major diplomatic incident and would cause quite the shit storm.

That said I still can't bring myself to believe that it will definitely happen as we are used to the buy outs turning into nothing.
It always looks positive then the takeovers vanish like the morning mist, I'll believe it will happen when it does and not before.

Electronically

I started to read but it in mind it just turned into bla bla bla bla bla.
I am now finding the entire topic mind-numbingly boring.
