Beardsley didnt serve jail sentence.

Barton you not going to find any sympathy from me. Would say though that even in prison structure assault is far fr

My take on this is prior to Premier League both clubs were regional clubs relying on past glories few had seen and a fan base who had few alternatives or reason to swap support. John Hall changed that by recognising how the Premier was going to change football. And how Newcastle could benefit. We rode the wave of early Premier glamour and it has never truly disappeared for all the years we have failed to match the promise of those years. It is now embedded in Premier media coverage that we are a club who are favoured. Which obviously most fans hate especially those who have won as little as us. Either way Sunderland have for some time now been reliant on beating Newcastle & nothing more to address the imbalance. The 6 in a row has become the whole reason for celebration & upmanship-never mind when Newcastle set own record of 5 in a row as recently as 2008 it is just a footnote which never became a subject of exaggeration at the time. Incredibly Sunderland have allowed a massive gap to appear when Newcastle were at most mediocre.
Nobody will read this all the way through anyway.

I did and it is a very accurate reading of events.

Are you for fecking real? Do you have any understanding of Saudi, it’s people? culture? History? Do some research else you are going to have egg on your chin, somewhere down the line. There is one thing having blinkers on, for the good of your club, it’s another thing altogether bigging the regime up. Clown.
Eh
Be nee heeds on the pints.
On the lash
The biggest indictment on Mike Ashley’s tenure.

I have been turning down free executive box seats for 10 years because to accept them would compromise my ideals of being invested in the club while he is owner.

30,000 will want back in if there is a club that wants to compete rather than be an advert for Sports Direct.
My ideals
These don't stretch to see what the Saudis actually are

I have never understood all this my club is bigger than your club shite. I couldn’t care less about how big my club apparently is or is not, or how my club are perceived by any other club. It’s my club, I love it and it is a huge part of my life. Exactly the same as fans of clubs up and down the country. Why do people get so hung up on it?
So no unique than any other club up and down the country then. Why do yous have a famous number 9, and yas divvent understand ffs? You need to have a word with some of your mates then

A lot more relevant to underline the decline in greatness in English football if comparing to Waddle, Beardsley or Gascogne.

Not withstanding that Henderson is a good example of dedication to his profession eking the most out of his ability as a footballer and his undoubted talent as a leader.

In what way is that relevant to the discussion point? The discussion was about talent discovered on the streets of Tyneside.

Oh dear, he resorts to the “Sammy Lee” argument.

So you pick one player who's birth certificate will show born in Gateshead, County Durham and another who was born in Hexham, Northumberland and played for Carlisle?

You give a perspective from well outside the city that I would find it hard to relate to having always lived within 5 miles of the stadium. I would not know about people making a choice and had assumed the vast majority of Newcastle supporters have a deep seated

nothing was made of the 5 in a row because it was a mis match you had by far the better side ( you did release a dvd and merchandise for the 5-1), the glamour certainly disappeared last year when you gave 10k tickets away, now your response will be because of Ashley, but imagine for a minute your club performing as badly run as what ours has?? And tell me that you’d be any different in our shoes, it’s bollox

This thread is going rapidly down hill, not that it was ever at the top of the hill but you know what I mean

My sentiments exactly

Really, i love the banter and winding each other up, but this hadred is shite. Northeast is the f*****g laughing stock of the country man. Stop, just stop, now is the time we need to be together more than ever.

The fact that it doesn't bother you speaks volumes.

Before you give me the "I know he is a bad person and Saudi Arabia has a human rights record but I just want to support my team and see us win things. I can separate the two. I support NUFC not MBS."

Buy celebrating, welcoming and supporting Newcastle United YOU ARE SUPPORTING HIS REGIME! You're justifying and allowing him to continue his reign of terror.

...but by that reasoning, so are the government who trade with the Saudis, all the other sporting organisations who go there, anyone who trades with them for oil, etc, etc.

This didn’t start with the Mags and won’t end with them either. Money, unfortunately, talks the world over. Where has the country been for the last few decades?

I don't think you understand.
It doesn't matter if the government trade with them, if all UK business deals with them, it doesn't matter if you work for them, doesn't matter if you follow sport that promotes them, doesn't matter if you enjoy, use, or purchase products from businesses that they have a financial interest in.
It only matters if you continue to support your football team if they have bought into that but that is with the caveat that the football team has to be Newcastle United.

Face facts we are the baddies.

Yep. I couldn't agree more.
