£19m a year for Pochettino!?

Shows that the Saudis know they’ll have to pay way over the odds to attract anyone of any quality.

IF the takeover actually goes through.
The same with every other take-over like this. Happened with Chelsea and Man City. Both were mid-table teams at best and paid way over the odds for big names to show their commitment. Let's be honest, they can afford it.
Undoubtedly but money seems to have a way of making authorities like the other way.

Murder, oppression and human rights violations can be negotiated away it seems.
It's all wishful thinking from people desperately wanting this not to go through. There've not been any takeovers with this sort of level of criticism in the past though. I just can't see the PL wanting to have the spotlight on them with regards to this, and I'm not even sure they have the power to stop it if they wanted to if it's not breaking any of the league rules.

Oh I agree. Although I do think Man City invested more in the whole structure of the club before really letting the purse strings go crazy.

I agree again, I don’t like it!

Loopholes and shadow clauses will be enforced if necessary!

Maybe the issue is that the Investment Fund isn’t a single person? As long as the board and chairman are pure as the driven snow then that will pass the test? After all sure they won’t scrutinise every member of the SIF just those named as representatives on the board.

I may be full of shit with that assumption.
people keep using the words fit and proper persons as it implies morality.
The owners and directors test is not a morality test, essentially it's to establish two things. Do you have any convictions that prevent you owning a football club under their rules and do you have the money.

In legal terms the Premier League view PIF as a company based in Saudi Arabia nothing more, do any of the board members holding more than 10% have any convictions that would prevent them from owning a premier league club...... no so move on.
can they afford it...... yes rubber stamp it.

How would you feel if it fell through?

I know it wont probably be an announcement soon but say it did?

 I am a Newcastle fan and that's enough for some. Petty tribalistic children might get their pants in a knot because a Newcastle fans is on their message board, but other, less juvenile people, are fine with it.

If my presence upsets you that much, just click ignore, way less effort than following me around and trying to wind me up.
Don’t have a problem with mags who want to come on here to talk football, there are a few decent ones who contribute well to this board. However I have about a dozen on ignore already as it’s patently obvious the reason they’re here is simply to wind people up and they add little value to the place. Obviously you fall into this group, as you only tend to be argumentative with anyone who isn’t a mag, but you amuse me because you do manage to string a sentence together and I get the impression you actually believe the drivel you come out with.

However, once your takeover goes through, yourself, Andy (aka Sima) and a few others will be straight on ignore as the level of bullsh!t will be simply too much. If it doesn’t go through, then I needn’t bother with the ignore as I’d be very surprised if any of you lot come back.

Before Abramovich turned up Chelsea finished 6-4-3-5-6-6-4 and won 3 FA cup 1 ECWC 1 league Cup in those years. Obviously Abramovich made a big difference. But those are not mid table statistics. Far from it.

Kinda thought that’s what I said!

"Destroyed" I was having a reasonable chat with one of them, then there was a pile on and they banned me. Searching my posting history on a Newcastle board to "out me" as someone who doesn't take to their club and fans as a whole. Just like if I try and have a reasonable chat on here, there's a pile on from the usual suspects who think that it's impossible to have a chat with a fan of a rival team without descending into boring keyboard warrior bullshit.

I've disliked Everton since I was a kid because there was 1 Everton fan in school who was a right prick. Every cliche about them in one chippy little bellend. The same kind of chippy behaviour in the ones that got shirty because I dared see what other fans thought about the takeover.

They've got a Newcastle thread of over 100 pages but insist they don't care about us. I get why you lot do, we're rivals, but why the fuck is there a 100 page thread about Newcastle on an Everton board man

Good idea.

Who'd you rather Sancho or Foden? ;)
They've got a thread on SAFC 149 pages you knacker so dont try and feel you're special difference is they don't mind us, now why on earth would they find Newcastle fans bellends ? Hmmmmm 🤔

It is good that every sunderland fan sets the standards here by protesting daily outside the factory on Wearside that only makes arms for Saudi Arabia.

We know what you look like man.

Absolute PR disaster for the PL if they accept it. There'll be an ensuring shitstorm for a long time (not just from safc fans either). But they might just see the £££££££ and go ahead anyway.

If Hitler was about today and loaded they would welcome him with open arms 100%

The camps were in Poland.... nothing to do with Hitler in Germany...
They'd say it doesn't matter where the money came from. I'd hate any club ruled by that saudi criminal. What a coincidence to see him at the mags.
