As a member of the Saudi royal family owns Sheff Utd, will this takeover not break the can't own two clubs rule?

All sounds like a good thought out plan. You do realise that the club already own the stadium, so I’m assuming you mean they buy the land off the council, but do the council actually own the land, or is it part of the original town moor. I always believed it was but don’t really know.

The land belongs to the freemen of the city I believe.
This fucker better be nowhere near anymore SAFC podcasts

Tbf, he is still the most arsed about SAFC of all the NE journalists in my experience.

Newcastle's acquisition appears to comprise 80% Saudi PIF - essential the business investment fund run by the Crown Prince and inner sanctum.
The Saudi royal family includes over one thousand princes and one of these bought Sheffield United privately

Never know as we all know who is in charge and if the Crown Prince says to the other Prince you are going to lose or I'll chop ya mrs and bairns heads off he is going to do what he is told.

It will still go through as money talks.

No, every Newcastle fan is responsible for each and every individuals words and deeds. You should know that by now.
aye sorry forgot.
also we need to remember we are responsible for the things people think we might think even when we don't think them.

Every club has its fair share of whoppers, but the people who represent Newcastle in the media are largely knackers. From Wraith, to Ryder, to weapons like the True Geordie. It has an impact on perception.

Caulkin is a decent journalist most of the time, but he's feeding into the misty-eyed nonsense that surrounds that club.

Yes I mean buy the land, I don't know who own the land to be honest I just assumed it was the local council.
Like I say I wasn't basing any of this on facts just a gut feeling that the Reuben brothers involvement might indicate a lot of property development.

When you say they to whom do you refer?
I didn't say I wanted them to build a new stadium, personally i have no objection to selling the naming rights of the stadium if the income generated makes sense,
"The Butcher of Arabia" lol
So his human rights record doesn't bother you? It doesn't bother you he ordered the torture and murder of journalists? The bombing of a Yemen hospital? Killing a nomads to build one of his vanity projects? Stoning to death of homosexuals and treating women as second class citizens?

It’s not simply an owning 2 clubs rule. It’s a question of whether owning a club would give it an influence over another. As has been pointed out in other places, if Newcastle decide they want a Sheffield player or for them to throw a game, would Sheffield’s owner dare to say no given the recent events where several members of the royal family and many top businessmen were held captive during one of MBS’s recent purges to let every know who’s in charge.

So this would basically break this rule, together with every one of the F.A.’s list of ethics it proudly displays on it’s own website. However money is involved and the Saudi’s will probably promise to buy the TV rights for an obscene amount in the next auction, so we all know how the F.A.will vote on the issue.
