this is probably a stupid question grumpy, but why are there 2 separate but obviously linked companies? Sunderland Limited and Sunderland Association Football Club? as someone said before, rodwell is a director on one but not the other. methven was on both

Surely it be on CH if that was the case...
I'm still hoping that the Americans will still takeover as this COVID will hit the club financially so Donald may have his hands forced and only get 10m for being greedy.

Sunderland Ltd is the old plc from the Murray days. It was set up to own the football club (SAFC Ltd). It holds most of the property (including the SoL) and the shares in SAFC. SAFC is the football side, so the Academy, players, etc are in there, and all the trading income and expenditure goes through it. Rodwell is only on the board of SAFC because his role deals only with football operations. Methven was on both because he was involved in both strategy and day to day. It also suggests that Rodwell is there purely to run the club operations off the field, and won't be involved with the strategic side.
