It's a bit like how Adam Johnson was a better footballer than Luke O'Nien, but I'd rather have O'Nien in the team.
Don't get me wrong I would hate to see this guy as a player for us, from what I have heard he can't string a pass together.

Might be of interest to some

FWIW, I do think that Newcastle will be taken over and that Saudis will be involved in some way. I'm interested to see what sort of deal it is and who is involved. There's been something a bit fishy and off with a lot of media reports so far.

On your first point it just says they were considering making a bid, They have done in the past and it was declined, i'm sure they probably did consider it.

On your second point I don't think anyone can say what their intentions are until the mission statement is made. They could intend to chuck gazilions at it, they could intend putting no money in and it's simply a loan of liquid cash to Staveley.
Time will tell.

The saudis were link with buying Man United for like 2 years weren't they? The Glazers wanted 4billion or something ridiculous.

It's pretty clear from the outset that probably won't be the case. I doubt they'd be handing over 20% to other parties.

My thinking is that they probably aren't too pleased that their name is so openly out there. I can't imagine that it was leaked by someone who had their best interests at heart.
