Interesting development, but is it too late with contracts already exchanged and the Saudi group having exclusivity until mid May?
My guess is it would be Ashley trying to drive up the price.
As long as somebody buys us that has a bit of a plan and ambition to take the club forward i'm not bothered who it is be it Arabs or a TV mogul.
Like I always say though I wouldn't be shocked if it all falls through and we are left with Ashley.

Definitely is, it’s not over until it’s over. Pressure well and truly cranked up on Staveley.

MoneyMikeAshley will be an interesting read tomorrow

As I said earlier though, haven’t contracts been exchanged? I agree he could be pushing for a better offer and, as they say, silence is deafening

"More recently, the Saudi police shot to death a tribal activist who refused to let the government bulldoze his home to make way for Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s pet project NEOM — which, by the way, is funded largely by Newcastle United’s purchaser, the Public Investment Fund. Entire villages have been expropriated, over the objections of their citizens."

Would you really want these people involved in your club?

I haven't got a scooby, the only bits I know are whats written in the press and i think they know very little,
It seems reasonable to assume that a deposit has been paid and that its in the hands of the premier league but how legally binding it is I have no idea,
It might be a simple case of him going sorry I have had a better offer here is your deposit back.

From my point of view I don't care which of them buy it as i have no idea what either of them have planned so you can't compare, as long as someone does.
My worry is it all falls through and nobody buys it and I don't mind admitting i would be gutted if we still have Ashley come start of the new season.

I am intrigued on two points Andy. Firstly this headline coincides with Ashley getting back into the country (from America) and other interested party is American, and secondly your chief scout has been taken off furlough with Ashley still the owner.
Oh definitely, but Ashley imo has leaked that story this evening, I think he’s cranking the pressure up.
I agree
