Really interesting to see how this pans out. The desperation for Staveley to get involved is just odd and the brothers who have all the property is another strange one.
If they were going to invest hundreds of millions into the playing squad and money is no object why wouldnt they just pay the 350m last May? The newspapers are bigging this up like there's no tomorrow and the mags are walking themselves silly
 
Cavani, Coutinho and Bale all the expectation levels of mags if this goes through.
All of those may have been possible signings 10 years ago, no ffp to come up against. Bale is on £400k a week, more or the less the same with Cavani and Coutinho will be on at least £250k a week, no way they can get around FFP. They can only hope to emulate Wolves really.

As has been said they can get to Everton/Wolves level but any further than that will take years imo.

Also those players will be looking for a big final contract and top footballers are millionaires these days. I would want a big final contract in a warm climate at a big european club.
