well indeed. the point is,..they can demand the £9m or whatever any balance is..before a sale goes through (ie from donald) if they dont like the new owner..but if they do like the new owner..they can let it slide..or make a deal with the new owner..
i dont know 9maybe @Grumpy Old Man does) if they have the option to tur their £9m debt into shares if there is a change of ownership?
Yeah I get that but surely if they wanted us they’d have done so by now?
They’ve made a minimal investment/loan but I’d imagine we are quite low down in their list of priorities.
We had the wealthy sartori with his stake as well but nothing seems to have come of that either.

The difference being here however is that it is entirely possible by protesting and voicing dissatisfaction about the ways he runs his business, to change it. Parliament could pass a bill with regards to zero hour contracts for example. They did investigate the way he treats employees and cited many cases.

We have no hope at all of holding the Saudi state accountable. It's not hypocritical - we just don't stand a chance.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

I wonder if Chi Onwurah will be following up on her parliamentary crusade against “unscrupulous football club owners” and the need for better regulations with the new owners?

Or will we hear nothing more on this?

one of my mates is expecting top 4 next season

Lies! You don't have any mates 😏

Depends on what your point is ? She has already mentioned feeling uncomfortable able the regime. With regards to football ownership, I'd imagine they will run a very tight ship which will be transparent and open. Therefore she will have no reason to push further. I'd imagine she would also tread fairly lightly considering the government's approach to Saudi politics and how potentially beneficial it will be to the area.

You realise the fit and proper test explores finances and ability to run a club, not what you get up to outside of the game?

I'd have to revisit the loan document, but it's certainly a possibility if it crystallises the loan.

Are we that much more of an attractive proposition even if in championship? It’s going to take some doing get back into premier league let’s be honest.

Well we look like we are heading for another season in league one which means at best we won’t be in championship until august 2021.
Feel free to bookmark this but I reckon the yanks will be a distant memory by then.

You’re right he wouldn’t. I was looking on the bright side. There is that dark option that he pays it back and sells it to another knacker - my bad.
Exactly.
Until they take over (unlikely now imo) its Donald at the helm and as I’ve said at best it’s looking like august 2021 before we’d be back in championship. Looking at how poor we are doing wouldn’t bank on that either.

he is already refusing to do that accirding to mickety gray..sell it on that is..despite the momgs on here statig he is only in it for a quick uck..he is refusing to talk to people who claim they have the quick bucks!

He may get a buyer though and FPP May then decide to up their offer. I agree we will be waiting on at least 2021 for Championship football unless we can get games going and into the playoffs. If they cancel the season we stay down or if they do some points for game average we’re out of the playoffs.

Well I'll answer then, Sunderland fans are not encouraging her to waste time and tax payers money.

Happy now?

I keep seeing her mentioned on here and how she campaigned against Ashley, it looks like people want her to use her time to raise concerns about the prospective new owners because she did about Ashley.

I might be misinterpreting it, but it does look like people are gonna use it as a proverbial stick to beat her with if she doesn't waste tax payers money and parliament's time by refusing to bring the new owners up.

No matter how much money people have, you can't just throw away £40m. So if I can't compare, you can't compare 20p to £40m
Its all relative when it comes to the numbers itself, if you were to look at it in pure mathematical terms. I conceed there is more of a moral responsibility to handle 40m with more responsibility than 20p if you are spending somebody elses cash.
And wouldn't say it was 'throwing away.' That extra 40m could have been the difference on them missing out on the deal, there was other interested parties. Could have thrown away what they may view as an exciting opportunity for what is relative to them, a grain of sand. Is this how they'll continue to operate? Time will tell.
