That John Hall sporting club project was a total clusterfuck in the end but one of the good things to come out of that was the basketball team. They were playing at a f***ing leisure centre and then went on to play in front of crowds of 5000+ at the arena, and they were pretty average team for the most part. I had a season ticket myself and it was great at the arena.

Now, they’re the most successful basketball team in British history with their own arena thanks to the vision of Paul Blake and the initial concept from John Hall.

Could also argue the Falcons was a success story, going from Newcastle Gosforth to the current team. Won themselves a few trophies along the way.

Destroyed north east ice hockey which is far more relevant

Hopefully we offer a free season ticket to any NUFC fans who identify as LQBTIQ. Welcome them across, be the opposite of your opponent’s ugliness.

Sunderland basketball team were relocated by their then owner David Elderkin, to Newcaste before being bought by Hall. Sunderland had been established and were one of the countries top teams, for 18 years before Hall saw a chance of £'s.
I know, as I used to wach them, so f*ck off with trying to rewite and expunge history.

Yet another swipe at Sunderland by Tico Mag.

Paul smith ws far more to blame for that.

If any team had a legit gripe against John Hall it was The warriors

Has it been mentioned before that Leeds are set up to be taken over by QSI. The wealth fund that owns PSG.Think that may be based on promotion.

I’m man enough to admit it would be proper shite when/if this happens. Them being took over spending their way to the top end of the league, meanwhile were stuck in league one with an owner taking loans etc with little sign of planing or forward thinking. Anyone who says they ain’t just a little jealous is talking bollocks, look how excited the thought of dell coming aboard got us. Never mind eh stewy will see us right haha.

I wouldn’t be jealous of them per se, because the derbies or results that affect SAFC aside, I don’t really care how they do. It does put into focus that the people running our club have been allowed to normalise League One however. We should have moved heaven and earth to be out first time. When we failed, we should have done everything possible to guarantee promotion as much as we could. We didn’t, and we’ll likely be here again next season. That’s what I’m pissed off about. Plus we fucked up with FPP/Dell.

Their new owners have a unlimited money.

So unlimited they baulked at the price of Chelsea or Man United. So unlimited after months of talking they didn't agree a deal until Ashley dropped the price due to coronavirus.

You dont pay more for a business just because you have money?
Complete contrast to the way man city have operated in the transfer market, particularly in their early post takeover days.
We're talking about relative peanuts as well. You would want speed if you had that amount. It would be like one of us arguing over literally pennys for a year, is it worth it? I know there's stubborn folk out there who would argue over that and it's not always good business to be like that.

We would need 5 points from 9 games to be safe and that's assuming you will need 40 to stay up which appears unlikely.
I doubt we will get anything out of 4 of those, Liverpool, Spurs, City and Sheff Utd.

So in reality it's 5 points from 5 fixtures against clubs all battling relegation. It could easily go horribly wrong.

Anyone who thinks we are completely safe is deluded.

I think with man city it was more taking a chance on spending big and hoping for success, different to spending extra on a business you dont think is worth it. If I had 200k in the bank and wanted to buy a business for 30k I wouldn't pay the asking price of say 40k. It's just not good business

On point 3! They want to have a “” cool”” time ???
I’m trying to ignore/dismiss point 2 as a joke for now !
back to point 3, how are they going to have a cool time by signing for Nufc ??
genuine question. What’s you’re defining quality that Newcastle will have that’s cooler than any other big city in Europe ?
Slags down the big market.
