As an aside it absolutely mental how strong their moral principles were with the Adam johnson thing. Yet they are beyond desperate to be owned by someone who literally ordered a journalist to be killed and dismembered.

just spent about 10 minutes writing different things about who, why or what about this takeover.
ive read this stuff over the last week and as a 37 year old safc fan since 89/90 who goes home and a fair amount away each and every season it boils down to this,
Fuck them!! Fuck every single mag that’s low enough to come on a safc message board and think I respect what they say !! If they get a takeover, so what ?? Was bound to happen at some point. They’ve still got to make a lot of good decisions. Something that we know too well, isn’t as easy as it seems.
we are Sunderland. That’s all I care about. We need to get our club sorted ! But that’s football

Er, not quite that simple. Do the best players really want to play for Rayo Vallecano, Orient, Red Star FC or even Espanol?
Players want to play for clubs that:
1. Give them lots of money
2. Where they can win things
3. Where they can have a cool time

At his core he’s a retail wheeler and dealer - and Corona meant 1) he needed the cash and 2) he saw lots of opportunities to buy up retailers in trouble which is what he does best...

You have to laugh like, if/when this goes through we will never ever in our respected histories have been so far apart. Two leagues apart we are running around cutting staff getting loans and barely got two pennies too rub together, they will be one of the richest clubs in the world. Even in the 90s when they had their little run we weren’t this far apart.All out the window now.

I didn't mention he was a spiffing chap. I mentioned me enjoying the football of that time.
I'm under no illusions about how it all came about, now....but then I was swept away with the emotion of it all.
As for taking Durham wasps away, I've taken no notice of that to be fair. I don't know the history behind that.
I remember him trying to turn the Newcastle Falcons into the Man Utd of rugby of the time.
I don't want the north east to lose anything on the back of deals between the rich, but like I say....at the time I enjoyed the wave of the football. I didn't take into account anything else. I also didn't take into account the destruction of the reserves.
I'm certainly not bigging up Hall and co, today or even going back 15 years or so.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't carried along on a wave of the times before that.
I have a lot more insight into what's what with the club due to discussions between Hall and co and ex players and ex managers of the club....etc.
The internet was in its infancy back then so the reliance was on snippets of tabloid view which went with or against the flow as and when suited.
I'm a Mag mate. I'm just being realistic. Our performances on the pitch this season have been terrible. Our League position does not reflect how bad we are.
Relegation is still a very real possibility if this season i sever played out.

But only decided to join a Sunderland board when it looks like Newcastle are on the verge of a takeover so you could try to take the piss. We’ve seen it all before and no matter how bad things are for us we always end up laughing at you lot.
We would need 5 points from 9 games to be safe and that's assuming you will need 40 to stay up which appears unlikely.
