Last night I watched Brief Encounter, made in 1945 b&w, what a brilliant movie, proper storyline, great acting.
Oh and if you have seen the movie you will know, if not then it's worth watching, plus it's free on youtube
Anyone know of anything else worth watching.

If you don’t mind old black and white films have a look at ‘Captains Courageous’..Spencer Tracy..great coming of age/feel good film.

Aye at Xmas..and then it’s not as good as Scrooge (Alistair Sim).

Good call for Alistair Sim,great actor, haven't seen one of his films for years.

I think the modern phenomenon of Wonderful life at Xmas is just that. Wasn't ever released as a Xmas film, fair point though. Now it will forever be known as a Xmas film .

Being an oldie I thought there was only one

It's aWonderful life
great for Christmas
The Pursuit of Happyness
Muriel's Wedding
Bridesmaids
Muriel's Wedding is brilliant
Along came Polly

Classic
I'm going to watch that just for the title
Finished watching A Matter of Life and Death, I enjoyed it if just a little high brow and pompous for me, but love won in the end and I feel good
Major League
Local Hero
Local Hero, great music even though it was stolen by the unwashed
A dogs journey
Pay it forward
As good as it gets
As Good as it Gets, been a while but I'll be watching it again
Stalag 17
49th Parallel
In Which We Serve
One of our Aircraft is missing
The Password is Courage
Waterloo
A Bridge to Far
Wild Geese
All free to air on You Tube
I've seen and enjoyed most in this list, I will make sure I see them all

If I just watch all the movies (well almost all) 3 weeks will be a doddle, thanks all.
Some of my favourites
Pete's Dragon with Helen Reddy
Whisky Galore the original, the remake wasn't bad
39 steps all 4 of them but the first is top for me
