I wouldn’t be happy in the slightest if we had owners with Human right’s record of the Saudis and Mohammed bin Salman.....

but seeing as you played the moral card about mike Ashley.....it would be hypocrisy if you didn’t say the same about the new owners. But it just goes to show it’s more about money than morals

They spent £50m, which is still a huge sum, but look at the clubs since that have tried to spend similar and go-up first time of asking. I don't care who you are, flipping a squad over and getting promoted at the first time of asking is tough. The first time they went down he got lucky that only the wasters like Owen and Viduka left.

like I said it’s ok if you’re ok with journalist murders, public beheadings, human right abuses, bombing Yemen villages. No women’s rights......as long as a new “famous” number nine comes along

First time they went down they got rid of basically all the mercenaries they'd accrued (Martins, Viduka, Owen) as a few were out of contract. He managed to hold on to the ones with spine and a bit of ability and supplemented it with loan signings and good Championship players on the cheap.

The second time, yes he had a boatload of cash to spend, but he also had a manager that got value for money on the big-ticket players. Ritchie and Gayle were the main goalscorers for around 20million. I'd reckon most owners would take the odd bad signing for a few million if you get most of your big moves right.

you are avoiding the question still I see, if they bought Sunderland would you boycott the club, given your moral stance?

Apologies, maybe I wasn't clear.

He was lucky in the sense that the person he gave his money to used it fairly well. No guarantee of that.

Champion ...I live in Blyth..near Ridley Park and love it .
Two minutes from the beach...which is very handy ... especially during this moment of time for our hour of exercise.
Been to the Old Ashdene a couple of times ...come out once and there were swans all over ..
Ashington and Blyth have their detractors...but I find that most of the people that live there are salt of the earth .
