Big Sam on talksport, would have concerns about the structure of the deal, why are they borrowing money 🤔
Sam’s only concern is who is being bunged the missing 10%.
Fair comments in some regards, but...

It certainly was not Ashley that attracted Benitez.

The wage packet was a sweetener but it was the allure of the potential. He could have waited on a job for a Champions league team easily enough.

Thereafter, the fervency of the supporters demonstrated in the 5-1 Tottenham relegation game that persuaded him to stay.

Ultimately, mis-trust of Ashley and the unequivocal understanding that Ashley’s integrity was suspect led him to leave.

Utter bollocks.

No I'm not , at all. The Saudi royal family was invited to meet the queen and shake hands, invited to Downing Street etc. Why is it suddenly an issue? It's not clutching at straws if you choose to ignore it all the time. You cannot take the morale high ground now or you are a giant hypocrite.

It was always wrong! Plenty of people have spoke out about the Saudi royal family. If you read anything by amnesty international. killing journalists, corruption, lack of women’s rights, public beheadings, human rights abuses........i know you say you’re here “in peace” but you could at least to the honourable thing by denouncing them..........

You're wasting your time, they'd sell their granny for a new numba nine.

For a retail genius like Ashley, this should be obvious and focus should have been on other sources of income. That being the case, why have our commerical revenues stagnated during his tenure?

He turned a team regularly in Europe into one that, more often than not, has to worry about being relegated from the top flight. You can maintain an animosity towards Newcastle United because they're your local rivals without wilfully twisting the facts.

He didnt turn them into that. He got a club on a downward slide overspending trying to reclaim past glories and had to rectify the problems without constant overspending and living on tick himself.

Maybe not exactly a roaring success on the pitch but brought a level of realism and stability financially.

To be honest as much as Newcastle are local rivals I couldnt give a shit and I'm not twisting anything. I honestly think even if this new consortium has some Arab involvement there wont be money chucked around willy nilly as its shown they've been quite careful in the price and the time it's taken some time to aquire the club.

So unless they come in and do it in a sensible way or they have an enormous amount of luck theres going to be trouble further down the line because of the expectations and it might be the case you're soon pining for the stability of Ashley again.
