Couldn't the 'loan' which in essence becomes her shares not be her commission? She charged Man City 10m for brokering that deal?

Loans have to be paid back. A "loan", as you put it, wouldn't carry a charge, and certainly not one with punitive clauses like this one. Fat Mike wants the money back, that's for sure.

I didn't say that. I'm saying the structure looks odd. Ashley is effectively lending Staveley the money from Newcastle's holding company to buy Newcastle. I'll make that even more obvious; the purchase is dependent on the buyers borrowing money from the seller. Great start.
Does rather sound like Big Bad Mike is fronting Saviour Staverley the capital to get the deal off the ground.

NOTHING would surprise me where Ashley is concerned. Nothing he does is straightforward. Whatever he does, it’ll be for his benefit.

And he will get it, when the takeover is completed and Staveley gets her % of the shares in the club. Id assume that as director (which is being touted) it wouldn't be an issue for her to pay back a 'loan'. As for the charges etc, you know about Mike Ashley right? The woman herself is likely to make over 1bn from the Barclays case and the Reubens are worth 18bn they are the two parties deff confirmed. To suggest they struggle for funds is frankly hilarious.

The deal will likely fall through but it won't be because they can not afford it.

It's not liquidating anything if you're lending the buyer the money to make the purchase.
Make a small part of the purchase. The cash proceeds from the remainder go to him with a guaranteed cash flow from a loan.

He obviously wants cash and it’s a buyers market right now so he will have facilitated the deal as best he could. There would be no auction here whereby he could dictate punitive terms or bid up the price.

Meanwhile Frasers group is burning cash in supplier and rent obligations let alone those employees not furloughed.

Are you going to protest against as much as you did against Ashley? Didn’t think so. Good old football fans, fickle when it suits!

A bit like your half arsed protest about getting Donald out but then Parkinson won a few games and you all forgot? You also never answered my question. You are offended because it's us - do not make out you would give a fuck otherwise because you didn't.

So the fundamental question is why would he do that unless he is a distressed seller? He is not a charitable man.

I really don’t give a shite about the politics, dont f***ing say you would too, you’d all be lying.

I know you don’t care about the politics, only when it suits you. Quite happy to have your MP whinge in parliament about Ashley about the running of the club, but couldn’t give a shit about anybody else. You try to portray yourselves as some superior beings with socialist views. Call all us Sunderland fans ‘scruffs etc’ and then have a collection outside the ground for food banks for your own residents 😂 You couldn’t make it up.

My thoughts exactly. In terms of wealth, Staveley makes Donald look like Jeff Bezos. And why aren't the Reuben Brothers fronting up for her the way Donald did for Methven?

Why do they need to? She has brokered the deal and done it so she doesn't have to borrow money from a business partner. It makes perfect sense.

Take a look at all of this generalising.

Indeed, relative peanuts to them and they'd have the deal done and dusted with Mike out of the way far quicker.

Didn't the original Staveley offer(s) offer instalments?

I agree...very determined...she must see the vast potential there is....and there is
I would be the same with your club ....the potential is there
Ashley would never buy into it.

There is in all NE football even a tad in boro but when we are both in PL it benefits both clubs and cities.
I'd always prefer us both to do well in the PL together derby days are unreal!

I like the rivalry I'm a Geordie only time I go to Sunderland is for the match so you can imagine the shit I got growing up.

Most fans know now though since older are sensible know a lot of good lads who are mag fans but then you still get the idiots like @Gorillacop cop who are proper cringe worthy fans in his 50s too

We have them both sides though absolute weapons
