fk me, Facebook has gone mental ( I know arseholes etc)

shit you not, rafa is getting credit for introducing Staveley in the first place!
It’s great for the region mate, great boost.

Actually that is true. I travel to Asia and North America and it is amazing the association that football has with the city.

That is a legacy of 1993 - 2004. It was dying on the vine under Ashley.

I've looked at the charge; it's in the books of Staveley's company PCP Capital Partners LLP. It's weird, frankly. From the charge document, St James Holdings, the company that owns the shares in Newcastle United, is making a vendor loan to PCP. This is an unusual situation, to say the least. Either Ashley is lending money to Staveley, or else she's being loaned share in Newcastle to be paid for later in instalments. Vendor loans typically carry higher than usual interest rates. Whether this relates to the whole of Newcastle or just Staveley's share isn't clear. The charge terms are pretty draconian; PCP isn't allowed to run up debts elsewhere of more than £200k. Someone's being taken to the cleaners here, and I'm not sure who.

WAIT WHAAAAT? A Sunderland fan thinks this is a bad takeover? Consider me surprised.

Didn't you also make out that Donald's deal was a good one and found lots of positives about the Dell deal that never happened? Funny that.

Does it not also signify Ashley is scrambling to liquify some assets to prop up shortfalls elsewhere?

Aye, getting rid of an owner who your fans chastised for the way he treat his staff, to then welcome a ruling Royal family that’s got some of the worst human rights offences in the world. Some logic that mind....money talks though I guess.

He didn't say that for all we know it could be Ashley taking Stavely to cleaners.

Tbf to the lass shes determined like

No it just has no bearing on you.
Living in Shields means half of my mates are mags and the piss-taking is relentless - they were gutted when t looked like we were going to be taken over. Why - if we are not even in the same league?

Exactly it’s a good question and same principle whatever Sunderland do has no bearing on Newcastle either, so I have no idea why they would be gutted.

I would understand been gutted if they sold their best player or got knocked out in a semi final.

But gutted that a team 2 divisions below them might be getting took over that makes no difference to theirs clubs position in the league that is just plain stupid imo

You protest this much about Sheff Utd? Please show me your distaste in a thread created on here about it.

The charge thing is to do with barclays.

I really don’t give a shite about the politics, dont f***ing say you would too, you’d all be lying.

I didn't say that. I'm saying the structure looks odd. Ashley is effectively lending Staveley the money from Newcastle's holding company to buy Newcastle. I'll make that even more obvious; the purchase is dependent on the buyers borrowing money from the seller. Great start.

Couldn't the 'loan' which in essence becomes her shares not be her commission? She charged Man City 10m for brokering that deal?
