Hello folks – Stoke fan here in peace.

I work on the ‘Duck’ fanzine and I’m planning a different type of article for our next issue – out whenever something approaching normal matchdays return to our lives once more.

I aim to ask supporters of several clubs 5 questions about their perceptions of Stoke City in order a to create a big feature article“Us and Them.” For the following questions, feel free to answer in varied depth/ brevity but a couple of sentences at least for each is ideal:
  1. Generally how do you see Stoke City the club – a rival? Non-entity? Certain type of club? Disdain? Admiration? Pity?! As a fixture – is it of general appeal?
  1. Are there any Stoke players/ teams that have made an impression on you over the years?
  1. Are there matches between your team and Stoke you recall hating/ loving?
  1. In home / away matches, what have you made of the Stoke support? Any particular memories?
  1. The Victoria Ground/ The New One – what did/ do you make our of our home ground(s)’ the grounds? Any particular experiences or impressions?

Given our reputation over the years, this could be a risk but then again, it would be great if I could glean a diverse range of honest/diverse/ cutting/ funny/ serious or even complimentary views.

If you can be arsed, thanks for your time.

Take care of yourselves,
Lee Hawthorne @ORFYDUCKMAG

  1. Are there any Stoke players/ teams that have made an impression on you over the years? Pulis stoke was peak stoke
  1. Are there matches between your team and Stoke you recall hating/ loving?
the game your lot assaulted Gordon all game and got away with it thanks to hunchback Lee probert
  1. In home / away matches, what have you made of the Stoke support? Any particular memories? Good the first year you came up with 3500 away fans.... Less great when you had 50 fans
  1. The Victoria Ground/ The New One – what did/ do you make our of our home ground(s)’ the grounds? Any particular experiences or impressions?
new ground, cold wet, windy.

1. No appeal. Mildly irritated you play in red n white
1. Shaquiri
1.no opinion
1.no opinion
1. Never been

He played for our club aswell so I dont taint other clubs with that.
Get that mate, get that he’s a Catholic as well and fully entitled to his opinions, just think he should think before he spouts off and be aware people who pay his wages don’t like (justifiably) the IRA. Thought he was decent player when we signed but he got found out too quickly and couldn’t adapt. Mates a Stoke fan and reason I said McClean is he’s just the first thing I think of in connection with Stoke, and he’s a twat 👍 (McClean not me mate) and

I always used to dread having to watch us play stoke, the only thing worse than having to watch one god awful side was having to watch two on the pitch at the same time. It was a wonder if either side managed to put five passes together without giving the ball away. Two well matched teams over the last decade imo, equally as bad as eachother.

  1. Generally how do you see Stoke City the club – a rival? Non-entity? Certain type of club? Disdain? Admiration? Pity?! As a fixture – is it of general appeal? A well-supported club who have had our number for a few years now.
  2. Are there any Stoke players/ teams that have made an impression on you over the years? The one with our ex players who we couldn't seem to beat.
  3. Are there matches between your team and Stoke you recall hating/ loving? I remember a load of blokes with taches chasing me up the bank next to your present stadium the first time we played there.
  4. In home / away matches, what have you made of the Stoke support? Any particular memories? Your fans laughing at some of our clowns in Guinness Hats on St George's Day when we were owned by the Irish.
  5. The Victoria Ground/ The New One – what did/ do you make our of our home ground(s)’ the grounds? Any particular experiences or impressions? The aforementioned chasing up the bank by a load of Magnum P.I's. I never went to the Victoria Ground.

Given our reputation over the years, this could be a risk but then again, it would be great if I could glean a diverse range of honest/diverse/ cutting/ funny/ serious or even complimentary views.

1. Non entity. Dirty players spring to mind.
2. no.
3. I went to Stoke vs Sunderland in the premier league on a freezing winter mid week game. it was shite. Shit ground, why don't you fill the corner in? Shit location.
4. Average support for an average team. Not in the 'top 10' lists of supporters.
5. see answer 3.
