nut CM didnt fail at the football..its not within his remit..SD failed at the football..CM should be compared against non football goals as thats his job..
OK so CM good job?
SD has failed. Football decisions?Surrounding himself with the wrong people maybe etc. Even though he took no notice of any of them over Grigg

well yess..SD has certaily failed on the football side, which is say 50pc of his job...ad part of the reaso he failed is he didt listen to Hill, a veteran football expert of the sort safc should be glad to have...and ross. Though I think ross was also a poor choice of manager.
SD did succeed in fixig the finances along with his associates..and has certainly spent cash..has methve succeeded on his side? i dot thunk so really...an initial flurry of momentum sure..but then what?

I didn't get that at all. Methven seemed to be key to be fair, but because he went to Eton, wears chinos and told a few fans some home truths he's become a hate figure. He had everything spot on for what I've seen. Certainly not the problem character many had us believe he was.

People always let political and class differences blind them - I know many public school types dow south who wouldn't even attempt to try to end in- at least he did- most Eton ites will be snobbish just like most mackems anti Tory

OK. So you agree. Up to now there have been big failures by both CM and SD.

Suppose I just wanted to point this out. I've not been happy with a lot of the positivity talked about them since the docu. came out.

They came to cash in on a big opportunity. Initially talked a big game. Lied a lot. And up to now have failed. Blamed northerners and our fans specifically. And have now gone to ground. Tough times ahead I think.

they havent gone to groud..CM is all over the media..
donald eeds to not be communicating because he is very bad at it..SD never blamed northerers for anything..

CM had gone to ground until last week when the docu. came out.

As I mentioned before they've got another chance due to this stoppage. A 3rd season to get us up. Doubt it will happen in the 2nd. There'll be a lot of apathy when that season starts and if there is no money for players it'll be harder than ever.

Good job the backroom staff has been sorted now then by CM! Just the on the pitch stuff to sort out then

 Aye we fought off numerous clubs to whisk him away from the mighty Eastleigh and his involvement in finding Parkinson was a master stroke.

i=oce to go to a club in a higher division than safc are ion now..
once to come to safc..
his work on telling donald not to pay more for grigg..if he had been l;istened to, woul;d have justfieid his salary for a decade. hill is getting flack for shit donald does.

Hill is getting flack for the overall contribution to the shit show we are at. To say he is a football expert that we should be pleased to have is quite frankly laughable.

well he is a football expert..anyone who has worked in the industry he has for as long as he has for the range of employers he has had at every level is empirucally an expert.

the problem with blaming him for the general shit shoiw is, donald is making the decisios..going against hill's recommendation, but hill is getting the blame.

it shojuld be that hill gets the blame if he was making the decisions but he is not, as we saw with grigg.

and he is vastly more experienced and qualified in the role than the guy who did it before him.

hill had to operate at the non league level for a while because of the qpr incident. ot because of his ability or talent.
he actually quit the idustry alltogether because of the buse he was getting for the qpr incident, then came back slowly.

He isn’t someone we should be happy with, he’s spent his managerial career mostly non league has had a 3 month stint with Villa as a f***ing scout. Irrespective of the Grigg thing stop overstating his role. Only you on this whole message board are singing his virtues, which leads me to believe you either are him, are friends with him or his f***ing mother. I have aspirations higher than a Whitehawk and an Eastleigh manager, your standards are obviously rock bottom

he has worked at every level of the eglish league.
his cv is vastly better than that of the person he replaced.
dorectors oof footbll operations are poeople who come from awide rage of roles..the guy at leicester used to be the club secretary i think..
the person with his job title at spurs is called rebecca caplehorn...she joiend spurs in that role having previously been the finannce diorector at QPR...
andrew neville, who does the same job role at leicteser, was the club secretary at norwhich before getting the job..

the person who did it at sunderland before hill was called ryan sachs..who had never worked in football before..

how do you know what his contribution has been? how do you what decisions he has made? and if the decisions he has made..how many have been listend to? do you know what a direcotr of football operations does? people have him down as a scout and the guy who picks the manager..thats ot what the job is..judge him on what his job is, not the very different role you think he is doing..

the grigg thing and the marcus maddison thing are the only two opiiosn we know he expressed..and he was right on both..

He hasn’t worked at every level in the league, why are you quoting his predecessor, or Leicester and Spurs. I couldn’t give a fuck if he had a roll of honour as long as your arm, his role in this shitshow means that I and probably a fair few Sunderland fans, dont think he is the expert we should be happy with. He hasn’t achieved anything here and we have gone backwards. His only real spell was as assistant at Villa
You may be happy with him, but your aspirations must be fairly low. For the last 8 years he has been in and around Eastleigh and Whitehawk, I couldn’t give a rats arse what he was like as an assistant 10 years ago, because no one has offered him a league role since 2012 apart form his f***ing mate and it wasn’t based on his record.

he has worked at every level..had jobs in the top five divisions of english football at one time or another..
you dont know what his role is at safc or in the shitshow..so can oly be commenting based on igorance..
you brought up the club he joiend from..so i referenced the cvs of people atr more successufl clusb..the ones safc should e copying..they didnt hire their doirector of football operaitos from other big successufl clubs..they hired them for specific skills..

Well you seem to be able to know what his contribution is, you’ve spent your career on here telling us all, then you come up with two decisions he may have got right. So if he was instrumental in telling SD not to get Grigg, was he not involved in all of the shit we have bought, or are you just conveniently forgetting that. Don’t tell me he isn’t involved in transfers cos you’ve just gave us two of his apparent successes relating to recruitment

In the previous 7 years he was at Non League, shall we get Andy Hessenthaler or Neal Ardley next? No fucker else wanted you/your son/your mate, hence he has not been involved in a club like ours for a long time. You can spin all the history in whichever way you want, he is part and parcel of the shitshow we find ourselves in

thats my poiont..io dont know whazt his contribution is or whether he is ood st it, nor do you..we dont even know whzat his job role is becuse at different clubs director of footbsll operations means different things and the people doing it have vastluy different roles. some folk on here think its the same as dircetor of football when its demonstrably not (some of the best run nd most successful clubs in the country have both) we do know three five things..

1) donald doesnt always listen to him when he should so we dont know whether he was listened to on anything, so cnt judge him.
2) he made the right call about grigg, as did ross
3) he made the right ca,ll about maddison, as did ross
4) the football department is a shambles, but how much of that is because donald is trying to riun it and how much because of hill we dont know, we know donald fucked up on grigg.
5) at no club in the land do director of football operations choose signings...so its unlikely thats his role at safc..even if he was listened to on signings..tyhats what i mean about people commen ting from ignorance..they literally dont know what he should be doing..but still declare him shit at it..

my career is spent advising a billioanire and a handful of millionaire on their private investment portfolios..not on this thing..

Ah I get it, I can’t comment how poor he is but you can tell us we should be happy with him, I get it now. Also as I’ve stated you give him credit for his advice on the correct decisions, relating to transfers, but he obviously has no say in the shit signings . I think we see a theme here
You won’t get an argument from me, that Donald isn’t responsible, he clearly is and so are the cronies he has brought in. Homer Hill included

i gave him credit for two decisions..his advice may not have been taken in either of them..so no evidence he is ver listened to..just that he was right..
im saying we should be happy to have someone with such vast experience..he may be doing a good job...or not, ive no idea...nor do you..
what cronies did he bring in related to the first team? not the managers or coton..

And I am saying we shouldnt be happy with someone who has been in non league since 2012. If he is someone we should be happy with, where were his other suitors? This bloke is in one of the most important roles at the club and he is best mates with the owner. It’s f***ing rank as is the recruitment. Also your previous comment about him not picking the manager, him and Fox were tasked with finding Ross’s replacement. I doubt you will get many if any Sunderland fans glad he is here, you are excluded cos you aren’t one of us.
