Lets say a vaccine is 18 months away.....

1st step is testing - anti-body testing especially may reveal a lot of people have already got this and were asymptomatic - these can then go out and keep the economy going

Also anti-virals will improve for preventative care

I think its basically a time game - the lockdowns now are buying time for these measures to take place, the strategy of "herd immunity" I still think was completely madcap and would have resulted in carnage.
No chance people will be locked away for 18 months. That would be crazy. It would be counter productive and many would get out and about to catch it so they can go out and keep the economy going.
A measured relaxation of the measures in place is needed and people are going to die. Nothing else is possible, imho.

The more people with healthy lungs, the more chance of a fall in deaths, along with social distancing/lockdown.
Exercise is a priority for physical and mental health in a vast amount of the population.
I agree with everything you're saying, but, stick to demanding facts from Football Fan and you will beat him - engaging in this (sensible) conversation will keep his theories alight.

Its not a priority now, its very simple - stay at home, save lives, its not too much to ask.

Pics if and when you do?

I've been jogging on the spot but it's not the same as running outside. It's a different movement in my muscles and I don't get the mental high as running freely outside. I'm desperate to get back outside so I understand why other runners are still running.

Its a global pandemic man

We know that but mental health still counts. Putting it bluntly, would you be happier if one less death was recorded to Covid-19 because someone with mental health problems (quite possibly undiagnosed) committed suicide because they felt they were unable to contact someone who might be able to help them?

No I wouldnt, but the example you give is simply not the case.
Can you point out the problem with someone going for a jog (keeping their lungs healthy with a virus which attacks the lungs abound), notntouching anything and staying what 3-4 metres away from the couple away from the odd person they encounter?

Increases the risk of the virus spreading, its not that difficult to understand.

I'd go nuts. I leave the house every 3 days for a run and other than shopping once a week that's it. My run now includes me checking for snipers mind as the moment I see someone else I make my move.
