I’ve not been arsed about most sackings recently to be fair. In hindsight, I would have kept Poyet for the championship had we been relegated though.

And also massively loyal to them. Deal with things behind closed doors.Ferguson was a bit of a twat

George Hardwick. Took over in 1964 when we were third from bottom and got us to mid table. He was then fired in the Summer
This was going to be what I saidI thought Malcolm Crosby being sacked after the pools panel awarded a defeat was particularly harsh.
He was a reader of individuals, not a bully. He'd never bollock Robson or Cantona. He didnt even give Cantona a telling off when he booted that fan in the face. Few actually have a bad word to say about Fergie. Di Canio on the otherhand managed us for a few games and managed to shun the kitchen staff, let alone the players.Ferguson was a bit of a twat
Very trueI agree. But he was also at an iconic club. It's the mid table Premier managers who are fucked when a multi millionaire player decides he wants to fuck off I feel sorry for (ok not sorry but you know what I mean)
Bob Murray never wanted to give him the job. He bowed to fan/media pressure when MC got us to the cup finalI thought Malcolm Crosby being sacked after the pools panel awarded a defeat was particularly harsh.
He pissed everyone off, he was universally unliked. Add in the absolutely abysmal performances and I still wonder why people like the fucker. He was a reader of individuals, not a bully. Agree Dennis Smith for me totally starved of funds.I thought at the time that Dennis Smith could have been a successful manager and was sacked too early. Time clouds your judgement like.
I’m more recent times. I liked Poyet and thought he got us playing some decent stuff .
Who got rid of him? McColl? Clough wasn’t even Catholic as far as I’m aware, which seemed to be McColl’s usual isolation reason. In retrospect it was a bit premature to get rid of Cloughie so early in his coaching/managerial career. He was doing well with the youth team and I wish we'd hung on to him for another 30 years or so!
That Villa game had to be the end for Poyet. 4-0, it was pathetic. I think he knew he was a goner. The 8-0 fucked him up before that.I thought at the time that Dennis Smith could have been a successful manager and was sacked too early. Time clouds your judgement like.

These days a manager can’t rule through fear. Look at Klopp and Mourinho, their players have loved them
