So it was her job to liaise with the ticket office, and get a good approximation by half time. That announcement would have been planned well in advance. So the organisation should have been in place to make it happen. Whether the number was 100% correct, or a few hundred out doesn't matter in that situation.
If thats the case he may as well have just guessed based on his knowlwdge of how many tickets had already been sold before the game. All that mattered was that he could say we broke the record, when in reality it meant very little

If youre an unprofessional egotistical arsehole, yes. And thats what hes been called out on. If you did it when you were at work, then you were too.

I didn't, directly. But I might have raised an eyebrow. What's worse? Asking an employee to get you a drink, or breaking off a conversation with a client to get one yourself? The tactful way is to ask your guest if he wants a drink, and then get someone to get you one each. That's what I would have done.

interesting that Ross wasn't remotely arsed if we got Grigg and Donald just keeps going back over and over despite being told by everyone else not to bother. proper tunnel vision

It's almost as if he was scared of the reaction if we didn't get someone in. I think he even said at one point that if they didn't get someone in "we're going to look like a bunch of numpties".

I think it was episode 1 where he said being Chairman probably isn't good for him because he gets emotional and acts like a fan. I think that was evident in the Grigg transfer situation. But if anything I just feel sorry for SD right now. He's trying his best and showing a bit of passion. One of the complains people had with Short was that we were just a play-thing he didn't really care. SD is getting pelted for it. Can't win really.

That may well be true but the only place i have seen this mentioned or anything is by you. I have no idea whats going on in any of our players private lives
If it’s an issue of truth ask Grigg himself. He’s on Twitter. He can’t deny it

I'm 4 episodes in and so far I can see why the club was dying. The management team running the business side were a fecking joke, and it'ss no wonder Methven got so wound up with them on camera.

I think some people are so blinkered by what's happened with Donald and Methven this season that they've forgotten the state we were in and what they've been dealing with. The lack of support by staff in getting behind the push for boxing day, the lack of new ideas and the general second rate middle management come across loudly to anyone who's worked at a senior level in a business. Too many people having an easy life.

Why the fuck do you spend all your time defending these 2 arseholes?

its absolutely embarrassing.

You just get on with it if youre frightened or are a kiss arse climber

He's spent the entire day defending Methven having spent the last year and a half doing the exact same thing.

It wouldn't have mattered what had come up today he'd have played it exactly the same way.

Doesn't have the courage to admit he got both Donald and Methven completely wrong. Calling Methven amiable ffs.

errr not quite like

A fan wouldn't have sold our best player for peanuts, he'd have kept him and tried to get promoted

who the fuck cares if he leaves on free? we got no money for him anyway

he is just a piss poor football club owner, and a skint one at that trying to make a quick profit

Anyone who thinks Short didn't get needs locking up, he cared a million times mroe than Donald did.

He is either an idiot or in total denial

you choose

he has been made a fool of so maybe thats why he is refusing to admit it

The entire episode showed how much went in to the push towards hitting an attendance number. For the head of the marketing team to not have a number at half time (which would've been the plan she'd have been well aware of) is ridiculous. Surely anyone in that role would've had a number or an approximate figure before approaching the director of the company? Her lack of initiative was worrying for someone in her position.

Don’t understand that in this day and age that the barcode readers aren’t all linked into a central live clicker feed and could give a live number of attendees at any point!

Unless like Roker Park we are still doing the old tax fiddle!
