Parkinson Out!

I hate the habit the internet has of digging out a months old opinion and saying “See! You were so stupid! I knew this would happen because of my crystal ball! Want him out now? Eh? EH?!”

His record before Doncaster was utterly abysmal, and the people that asked questions of him then had every right to do so. Yes, things have got better since then but it’s not humble pie time yet.

He’s bought time, not unconditional support.

It's one of the best parts of the internet for me. If people shout their mouth off, don't be surprised if it comes back to bite you on the arse.

Not to mention the Sherpa Van Trophy, Rumbelows Cup, FA Cup and replays he had to contend with as soon as he walked through the door, when he didn't know who was who. Pretty difficult to put league & cup squads together, never mind establish a style of play given those circumstances and variables.

There's no denying he struggled even after those run of games, I had my doubts myself after the insipid 1-1 draw with Coventry (thanks, Kimpioka by the way).
But the mitigating circumstances (as you also mentioned above) should have definitely given more time before the knives came out.

Really pleased he seems to be a mentally tough character, he needed / needs to be. HAWAY PARKY. HAWAY THE LADS.
Spot on..

I said he should be given till the end of the season as he hadn't even had a chance to bring his own players in.

However

It's still a short term appointment. I don't see him challenging in the championship if we do manage promotion. I'd be happy to sack him if we go up as harsh as that sounds as he isn't good enough if we do get to the championship.

I was certainly wrong about him. He’s steadied the ship after an initial downturn. Jury is still out though.. and for me his glass ceiling is always the lower reaches of the championship so in that respect I don’t think he was anything but a short term appointment. Which is why it beggars belief that the gave him a 2.5 year contract. Should have moved heaven and earth for Pearson in my book.

What makes you think he couldn’t do a job in the championship? I think he’d be alright to stabilise us for a season or two.

I’d genuinely sack him. He has no plan B and I don’t want him to be given a window to sign his own players.

Say even if we go up with him, what is our identity going to be?

He's clearly never been good enough, and that decent run was simply a blip in a league against teams that are absolutely rotten. The football is awful, we look bad defensively and blunt as fuck up front - there is no clue to change it when it's not going our way. We're desperate and he's as culpable as anyone, he's f***ing shite.

Yip. Never good enough. Getting dominated off these absolute clowns
