Takeover Hong Kong consortium

Pretty much agree with this. Also think he'll be waiting for the second Netflix series. After all it's been widely suggested that FPP partly got interested on the back of season one. This next one will show crowds remaining good, and will showcase the support we can get with the Wembley trips, it certainly won't do him any harm in terms of promoting / selling the club (even if he and Methven don't come out of it looking great). There's pretty much no reason for him to rush into selling now, and with results massively improved there's no real groundswell of the support wanting him out immediately so I doubt he's feeling much pressure
100% agreed đź‘Ť

What we really don’t need is another summer completely dominated by will they / won’t they takeover / investment talks which devastate our pre-season plans.

Whatever league we are in we need a precise, constructive recruitment plan which can be implemented as soon as our fate is sealed in terms of league status.

If Donald is hanging on to see how the season pans out before entertaining prospective buyers, the whole process will doubtless take all summer putting the recruitment staff & manager in an impossible position when looking to strengthen the squad.

I doubt there's any unknown serious bidders waiting out there, I would think whoever takes over has already shown an interest, done some due diligence, and talked about price with SD, based upon where we finish this season. We're told that FPP paid out ÂŁ1m in legal fees and costs to get to this point, and another party are in the process of DD, presumably at a similar cost. So I reckon its a straight choice between FPP and 1 other. With only weeks to go, I'd expect the takeover to be done straight after the season ends. My moneys on FPP.

As I've said before, if FPP wanted us, they would have bought us straight away. It would be strange if they bought us now.

Can’t see it being FPP now. Something put them off the deal.
I reckon it’ll drag on a while longer yet.

And as I and many others have said, if a price was agreed for a club that was going to roar to promotion on 100 points, and then slipped to 15th, it’s understandable that FPP would have wanted to renegotiate the price.

It’s understandable from Donald’s side that while we have a chance of promotion, he’s not going to cut the price.

So it’s very understandable that FFP have lent the £10m to keep them in the box seat and they’ll move as and when we know what league we’re in

I don't think it's that simple. If they want us, and they think we're worth x, but Donald only wants to sell for y, then it won't happen until either they up their bid or Donald lowers his asking price. If they're happy with their valuation, and bearing in mind the considerable risk even if we get into the championship, they won't be upping their bid unless we go up and they get comfortable that the loan has been well used and we've got a good set up in place.

If Donald thinks he can get his valuation he won't suddenly drop his asking price unless time drags on, he realises he isn't getting any takers at his price and it gets to the stage where its costing him too much to keep us going. I think clarity over what division we're in next season will be a big part of it but I certainly wouldn't expect that they've just completely walked away. They just aren't in any rush, the loan means they're guaranteed their money back either way and it means that Donald can't sell it under their nose to someone else, so they'll bide their time. Whilst we're winning and fan pressure is low that'll suit Donald because the longer that goes by the more he'll hope to get us up and either be able to justify his higher price or get someone else interested.

A lot of wishful thinking here. We are obviously a better prospect in the Championship, but worth more.

Our set up has gone down at board level losing the bloke from Spurs. I hope they do come in but he will sell to others before the end of the season, I think

Sounds like a Bond villain. Does he live on a remote island in the South China Sea by any chance?
Or a personal injuries claims lawyer.
Before anybody starts, I am not ITK. I read in The Sunday People, yes, that Birmingham City's ex vice chairman Mr Su, is in talks with Donald, to take over with a Hong Kong consortium. Anybody know any more?
Mr Su Mek Coff?

ÂŁ10 million says they're still involved to me.
They have an option, but have seen how our board of directors have resigned, our fans have turned against the owner and the team are not in an automatic promotion place! Furthermore, they have closed down the company set up to buy us. It doesn't look very promising.

Not necessarily. If we will have less income or parachute and need more outlay then it isn’t financially more beneficial.
