Are there any plans to widen the road to three lanes through Co Durham?

Just amazes me that they stopped the upgrade at the Yorkshire / Durham border. Are we not worthy?
If it's anything like the last upgrade they did, there'll be roadworks for ten f***ing years.

No we haven't got any proper motorways connecting us to the outside world. North, South or East. We won't get high speed rail and the Metro cars are 150 years old. No one gives a shit about the Northeast

Has anyone noticed the massive discrepancy in the number of speed cameras on the A1 in Scotland? Loads going north, virtually none southbound.
